Golden Triangle Tech Session/ fluid change
« on: June 04, 2007, 08:21:27 AM »

I want to change out all my fluids. Coolant, clutch, brakes, engine and rear end. I have done it before but it was without a vacuum pump. I made a mess. The next time, I bought a hand vacuum from Harbor frieght and it was broke when it arrived. So, I made another mess!

Anyone else in need of changing out their fluids?

Bring it over -- you're more than welcome to use my pump. You should know that by now.

Well Jim, I don't need to bother you for that but after riding yesterday for the first time in 2 weeks I'm back to thinking there is something up with my steering. You have any opening in your schedule for a steering stem torque job?

I could use an oil change and change out the rear diff fluid.  Would love to learn how!

I can help out with steering and fluids as well.  I'm on the southeast side (deer park) so if you don't mind riding I can help out.

Bill,
I am in.  I, like you, would like to change all the vitals.  AND....perhaps tend to those dang valves! :-\ :-\ :-\

I am helping Pat with the Spindletop Spin on Saturday morning, but otherwise, am free about anytime.

I'm working out a date with Jim to check/tighten/fix my steering. Not sure yet if he is coming here or if I'm going there. I may want to stay close to home in case we run into a snag and can't get it back together. Either way, that's gonna be an all day chore. I will know more tonight.

I'm going to Dallas the 22nd, 23rd and 24th for my grandsons b-day.

So far, it's just Duane and I. I'm not sure if slowbluesriff and vtxgrl realise where the golden triangle is?

Duanes bike would need to be cold for the valves. Possibly drop his engine oil after the valve job?

I'll furnish the burgers if you will supply the pit. Did you put AC in your garage yet?  ;D

Bill,
Like I said earlier, just let me know when.  If Randy's is the place, after we all get our grease-monkey paint on, I know of a concrete pond to escape the heat!

I may want to come watch and eat a BURRITO, keep me in the loop. I have the parts for my steering bearings but would like to know a bit more before I start that job.
