Line the front header pipe up first with the end of the pipes pointed downward to the ground. Once you get it lined up, it should be easier to lift the end up so that you can bolt the back header pipe up.
Edit: Do the opposite.... Back first.

The manufacture says in the instructions to start with the rear port first

Sorry bro, I had it bassakwards.... Hold the tips up and do the back first, then bring the tips down and the front header should line up. Sorry for the corn-fusion.

You'll also need an extensive four-letter vocabulary

And later on, when you get ready to remove the crank cover to do a valve adjustment, cut an allen wrench down so it will fit behind the pipes to get to that one screw loose that the rear pipe covers
up.
I thought I would point this out so you can get over it now while you're already frustrated.

I had no problems at all with my install schulti1.. like they said..rear one first then work the front..and yes with the heatshields installed in case your wondering..dont forget new gaskets! I did have to pry the front heatshield to get the bolt to line up..The main thing is to have someone to help you..get someone to hold the back half while you work the front..good luck..These pipes sound great by the way..IMO...Take the baffles out and theyre twice as loud..
