I know we all appreciate other build threads or at least I do but this is what I have been working on since November of last year
Started life as a plain jane 2004 XL883 Sportster. Got a great deal on it plus I've been wanting to pick up a Sportster for quite some time. Absolutely one of my favorite bikes thus far.
I rode it for about 5 months before actually tearing it down and in the meantime I purchased parts like crazy. Had boxes arriving weekly. From purely aesthitic to total refreshing of seals, gaskets, o-rings & etc.
blacked the motor out
Powdercoated various parts on the bike and changed out bars. Chopped rear fender, added all LED signal lights and brake light.

I did 100% of powdercoating myself including the wheels that I coated in a dark bronze or so the packaging said it was dark bronze. I think it came out great
and obviously found the tank to have some nice hickey's under the paint. So I stripped it, fixed it and painted it

On her maiden voyage. Paint job also painted by yours truly. Handmade patina added to only the bronze color on the sides then shot with matte finish clear coat.
and then I got caught in some heinous rain and the roads were muddy as hell

Very Nice Indeed
I had a Sportster way long time ago and loved it. The sporties get a bum rap. People call them chick bikes but they are a quick, agile fun MC and along with the 1800X , one of the best bargains on the market.

First bike was a Sporty, got to old for that ridge frame, you're like my son always taking that front fender off, to each his own, I just don't like the rain being thrown at me from all directions, lol

I'm going to try and bring it to BBT, but I haven't figured out how to fit it in my little trailer with the other bike. It's probably going to have to stay. But would have been cool for the show.
