Saturday Ride from Galveston to Yankee's & Back
« on: November 05, 2007, 04:45:33 AM »

The lunch and visit at Yankee's and the ride back to Galveston with y'all was real nice.  Duane, the route thru Montgomery and the N Forest was cool too- please post it.  This may become my SR route to Houston.

Jerry,
I am still fiddlin' around trying to find a good mapping tool that allows me to:
pick the cities
pick the roads
have no limit on number of stops/waypoints

With that said, I'll try to be fairly clear on the route we took.

To Yankee's Tavern from Galveston

Broadway /45 to the R exit for 146N all the way to Dayton.
R on 146/90 to L on 321 to Cleveland (changes to 105 just outside of Cleveland)
Proceed on 105 til just W of US 59.
R on 1725
L on 150 to New Waverly
L on 75
R on 1375
R on 1486
L on 30
R on 244
Yankee's on Left

From Yankee's Tavern to Galveston

L on 244
R on 90 to Anderson
L on 149 to Montgomery
L on 105 to Conroe
L on Loop 336
L on 105
R on 1485 to New Caney
R on Loop 494
L on 1485 (changes to 2100)
Proceed S on 2100 through Highlands
Cross I10 via overpass  (*)
L on Decker Dr
Merge onto 330 via L on-ramp
Exit R to 146S
Merge L onto 45/Broadway

*For a more scenic/historic stop:
Go straight onto 2100 / Crosby Lynchburg Rd
Cross channel using Lynchburg Ferry (5 min. ride), which exits at foot of San Jac. Monument/Battleship Texas on Battleground Rd.
Proceed S on Battleground Rd. to 225
L on 225 to 146S
R on 146S
Merge L onto 45/Broadway
