Central Texas "Hook-up" to ride to Galveston
« on: October 24, 2007, 09:51:18 PM »

I start it up.

Jeff (smoothx) and I are riding over to the LSR on Thursday morning, 11/1. I know there's some from Austin that are leaving the same day. Just wanted to get a thread out there to start lining everyone up.

We're taking Alt90 to Sugarland, then Hwy6 through Alvin/Santa Fe to IH-45 then on to the Island. We've done this route before, and Buckee's in Luling is a good meeting point. Hwy183 intersects IH-10 and Buckee's is on the SW corner. Everyone can gas up there, so we're on the same page the rest of the trip. With the weather cool, it'll be a good place for coffee and breakfast too.
From Buckee's to Galveston is 195 miles, close to 4 hrs. If we meet at 8:30am, including gas/break and a lunch stop, it'll put us in Galveston around 2:00pm. All the Hotels/Motels & Rentals start giving out the keys at that time.

How does that sound? Who's onboard?

Steve is 8:30 too early for you? You've got a 2 hour ride to get there, that's getting you out at 6-6:30am. Would a later time be better?

Won't be able to head down on Thursday. Maybe not at all - won't know until Friday.

Stupid work!!!!! I am being promoted (good!) and have to meet with the big bosses Thursday and Friday (bad for attending LSR) or wait 2 more weeks for the raise (very bad) while taking on all the responsibilities immediately (the worst). Y'all have fun. I am going to try and keep Saturday as a possibility but it is not looking like a good one.

Y'all have fun, be safe, and have a shot of Don Julio for me.
