Alot of people will be coming in on Thu. After 2 days of walking up and down the streets, I personally am ready to go for a long ride. I'm only speaking for myself, but after 12pm on Sat., I would like to be on the oppisite end of town. Away from the heat, and crowds.
Did I mention crowds?
I'm up for a good tour, and I know smoothx will be too.

I have a route in mind...  How does approx.  300 miles sound?

I mapped out a route leaving Galveston through Kemah, up to Dayton, to New Waverly, Yankee Tavern for Lunch, back to Montgomery, Huffman, through Highlands and San Jacinto Monument, and back to the island.

Approx. 315 miles round trip.

Never been to Kemah, or the SJ monument.

That sounds like a great ride, but I suggest we leave before noon.
Maybe around 9 or 10 am.  That's probably a 5 or 6 hour ride.
 I know my way through most of it, but my knowledge of the area stops
north if I-10.
 Kemah and the San Jac Monument are about 20 minutes apart.

I look forward to the ride.

There's an Exxon(?) at the intersection of 61st and the Seawall that makes a good starting point. Everyone ca get gassed up, and 61st has an entrance ramp onto I-45N. Just depends on which way you want to get off the Island.

Pick a time and place, and those that want to ride will be there. I think everyone has agreed that early is good.
