October in Big Bend Country
« on: May 04, 2020, 12:46:06 PM »

Since BBT did not happen been thinking about a rally in Big Bend country. I've actually been thinking about this for a long time. I am thinking mid October. That will be after school starts and before the chili cookoff in Terlingua. The boarder crossing should be open all week by then( only open on weekends before that) . It would be a week long commitment. Wondering how many of y'all might be interested? Maybe we could set uo a poll?

I'm definately trailering. I'm flexable. what week is good for you. I'm thinking mid october. Last of Sept. not bad but still a little warm. Low 90's day but cools nicely at nite.

This sounds very appealing. Mid October would be good.

I will be towing the "Land Yacht" and most likely staying at Lajitas because they can accommodate my rig easily.

Would depend on others on where they stay but it that area has good accommodations.

Wayne and I didn't feel up to riding all the way there, but if everyone is trailering then we are interested also.  My vote would be after October 15th

I like the way this is going. The RV park in lajitas is nice but other than the resort, don't know of anything else there. The resort is $$$$. I was thinking somewhere in the Terlingua/Study Butte area. There is a coupla places to eat there and a gas station and fair size grocery store. There are some RV parks and other lodging although I don't know the quality. Several unique B&B's in the area. I have a friend that goes there twice a year. I'll talk to him. Plus the TWT forum has a lot of folks that go there a lot. One lives there.

Yeah. Ideally I'd like to stay in Terlingua but I like my space and the two RV parks are just too cramped for my rig.  It's only a 15 minute ride away anyways.  I'll keep looking

How about renting something on AirBnB...like this whole house?

https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/40339182?location=Terlingua%2C%20TX%2C%20United%20States&adults=10&check_in=2020-10-16&check_out=2020-10-23&source_impression_id=p3_1588791716_GLeviJw5LRJvAea1&guests=1

We could cook some meals in house (you know me, I like to cook).
Maybe there are hookups for Paul's RV.
