What would they do if you get sick or worse? Heaven forbid. The work would get done. Take time to have some fun. When you are gone, nobody will remember how hard you worked.

I agree, you can't be a slave to your job no matter how good you think it is.  A job is just that, they pay you to do something.  If your name is not on the sign out front then you shouldn't spend more time there than you spend with family and friends.
