UPDATE 01/19/2016:

I am going to try and do this Saturday.  I have some family in town that is leaving Saturday so if everything lines up I will be at the Potratoe Patch on FM1960 around 8AM for breakfast.  It's going to be very cold in the AM but warming up nicely during the day.  The route has been slightly modified from the original but is still going to be hitting the Spindletop Museum (Boomtown) and Willy Burger plus I am routing so we can go over the rainbow bridge and YES, I will be stopping at the top to take pics unless there are posted signs that say not to.  This one scratches 2 spots off the list in one ride.

Texas Bucket List Ride #03

DATE: Saturday Jan 23.  Sunday looks like a nicer day to ride but the Museum isn't open until 1 so that would be a stop, look, take a pic and check it off the list.

The plan is to eat and leave the Potatoe Patch around 9AM.  This would put us on Orangefield around 11 or so and give time to hit the museum and Rainbow bridge then lunch at Willys about 1 so we should be good and Hungry.

All date are subject to change due to weather.

If you haven't been there, I like Goliad. The old presidio where Fanin and 300 Texas rebels were massacred. And the Spanish mission. Good food downtown across from the courthouse and the old hanging tree.

You should put together a ride, I would be interested.  It's a LONG ride from my place but not like I haven't done that before.

Brakes, didn't have brakes, that bike was shaking and twerking all the way down, home made bikes weren't made for that bridge :redcard: :redcard:

420 came a few years later for me  ;D

I am thinking about doing it this Saturday.  I modified the route a little and shaved a couple of miles off.

Would be nice but my ride is into a hundred pieces right now and you guys would hate me if I took the Sporty having to refuel every hundred miles.

just made that ride a week ago with Gumbo, stop by the Pine Tree Lodge for lunch. I'll be conducting my first rider course this weekend. Getting my stuff together to retire.

If that was the only excuse I would say come one but I imagine you have some other stuff lined up after that one.   :violin:

Yeah, I actually just remembered that I do have some other things to do that I would much rather play hookey but a friend asked for my help.  But I might have gone.

So...I'm powdercoating all the chrome parts on the engine to gloss black plus some other parts.  switching out the stereo so I can get Bluetooth for streaming my music and just some general wiring updates.  This all stemmed from needing an oil change.  While the belly was empty seemed like a good time to pull off all the parts.
