Group riding to Lone Star
« on: October 05, 2015, 06:46:30 AM »

Anyone want to meet up and ride as a group to Lone Star?  Me and my brother are riding up Thursday Nov 5th.  I would like to take a scenic route as this will be part of my riding experience so no I45 or Hwy6.  4 weeks to go so no hurry.  I will likely end up planning a route but would also like to group up.

This is pretty much the route up.  We are leaving Thursday around 9-10AM  Avoiding the early traffic if possible.

That's a route I often use to get there.  :bikerider:

Another fun way to go , is down through Anuacac to High Island , run Boliver and take the Ferry into Galveston. I have never had a problem with traffic going into Galveston on the ferry, coming out is a different story.

You will have hrs of waiting on Friday. The ferry cam are useless to plan the crossing.

Would be hitting the ferry around noon on Thursday if we go that way.  We could always turn around and go another way if there is a 2 hour wait.  Not in a hurry to get there and good as long as the wheels are rolling.

I have never had a problem going from Boliver to Galveston on the ferry, leaving Galveston on the ferry is a mess.
