I am about to load tyretotravel so I can make my Google Maps into GPX but did find a bit of luck using the Harley Ride Planner. It works really easy once you download the plugin for the Garmin. I am deleting Basecamp, that SW sucks.

I turned off the Garmin crap that runs automatically and am just using Harley Ride Planner and it works exactly like I expect this kind of SW to work.  I create a route and export to a GPS, no BS.  I learned that sometimes I have to add an extra waypoint to make sure the same route is followed and also to make sure to use waypoints instead of destinations or the GPS will make that the end of the route.  That would actually be good for multi destination rides but not for what I am doing.  I also learned that just because you can get Google Street View does not mean the road is paved.  Better to check the view than just trust it's paved.  At least for the bike.

Anywho....problem solved.

BTW, I have both routes planned and tweaked a little to keep it on pavement.  I am dying to get out and ride them.

What ever seems to work best for me, I got lost in my neighborhood and rode 400 miles before I found my way home! I did notice things did start to look the same about 3 hrs into my adventure. :bikerider:
