Arkansas, October 9-12, 2014
« on: May 16, 2014, 06:30:25 PM »

At BBT, Gumbo talked about going to Arkansas and meeting at Queen Wilhelmina lodge and riding Skyline Drive, the pig trail and whatever else we can find.  Is anyone interested in doing this?  We were thinking about going up for Columbus Day weekend, which would be Oct 11-13.  We can either stay at the lodge or over in Mena, Ar.

Any thoughts or ideas?

I just saw where the lodge is closed for renovations until spring 2015, but there are accommodations nearby.

Unfortunately the whole month of October is booked for us with the preparation and commencement of our fire department's annual fundraiser.  They would set us on fire if we took off several days.

The http://www.limetreeinn.com/ is the best room value to be found around... cheap and clean. They have a buffet noon and night thats excellent. Great riding all around... although paperpeddler will not like the speed limits... a 75 mph (texas) road there carries a 60 mph limit, but makes for better scenery viewing. Those of you from south/centex will love the greenery! I'll see you there. This is my neck of the woods!
