New VTX 1800 Rider
« on: May 07, 2014, 04:03:22 PM »

Hey all, just traded for a 2006 VTX 1800C. Been in the Sport Bike world for years and decided to join the friendlier community. I am in the lake Texoma Area and looking to see if there is anyone in the area with HK Sidewinder Exhaust that I may hear in person. Would be interested in group rides if there are others in this area interested. Happy to be here and looking forward to many great miles ahead.

Welcome to the X crew.
Had the Hard Krome Sideburner exhaust on one of my 1800s .
Will say if you want a exhaust that will get you some attention that is
the one to have.

Appreciate the welcomes guys. Sherman or Denison would be good I can meet you in either. Currently looking into purchasing a new 2-up seat, the seat that came with the bike is comfortable for me but not so much for the wife. Looking into the Mustang Sport Touring and a sissy bar, wife claims the torque is a little much compared to the high RPMs of my GSXR 750. Hope to see you guys on the roads.  :bikerider:

I never was a fan of riding in the rain. Not sure if cruiser riding is safer than sport in water, but I had to sit up on the tank at times on my GSXR.

I don't even like driving a car in the rain.  With all the pollution in Houston and crap dripping off of cars the roads get really slick with a light rainfall.  I have seen bikes go down before due to rain and not about to go test out the theory on my bike.
