HOW TO READ BARCODE MUMBO-JUMBO

The olde saying: "Ve get too soon oldt.. undt too late schmart !!" is very true..but I say it doesn't have to be.... let's all become big 'schmarty pants, schmart aleks'...OK ??

The following information may be useful to know when shopping and wanting to know where a product is manufactured, a growing concern in  this country.  The following information is handy to know & have. Let's get started !!
A typical GS 1 barcode found on manufactured goods

The whole world is concerned about China-made "black hearted"  goods.  Can you differentiate or tell which product is made in Taiwan or possibly China ?

Let me show you how ….   If the first 3 digits of the barcode are  690, 691, or 692, the product is MADE IN CHINA ..   if the number line begins with 471, it is then Made in Taiwan .

It is our human right to know these things, but the government and it's related departments have failed to educate us, the public, therefore we have to RESCUE & inform ourselves.

Chinese businessmen have increasingly learned that consumers do not prefer products "MADE IN CHINA " and they don't like to print or show on the package the country it was manufactured.   However, you may now refer to the barcode to decipher the critical information..... Simply remember this... if  the first 3 digits are  690 thru 692  the product in question is MADE IN CHINA.

Below are some barcode numbers you may want to commit to memory

What are the country codes?
Lots of people have requested the codes. Here is a partial list. Remember, it indicates the country that issued the code, NOT THE COUNTRY OF ORIGIN OF THE PRODUCT. The abbreviation "MO" stands for Member Organization. The meaning of the prefixes ""020-029", "040-049" and "200-299" are set by the GS1 administration in a given country. GS1-US has defined these prefixes as for internal use in, for example, warehouses. The authoritative list is here.
