I am going this year but may be my last depending on how it goes. Last year was the first time I have ever heard of a shooting (apparently by local residence) so not interested if it starts to get dangerous/violent. I overheard a lot of things last time I was there and in general was the first time I felt uncomfortable at the rally. Best not to stay out too late for sure. I will stop attending if this ends up being like Atlantic Beach Bike Week, that one has a reputation for shootings and bad drug deals.

If I go, I'll just ride in for the day. Depends on what vendors show.Would like to see a electronic company like Sena show. Not much else to offer a Goldwinger.

myself, lots of great adventures to be ridden. Been to rally's from LSR to Sturgis and points in between. Nothing against rallys but after you have been to a number of them, you look for something else to do. Might go back to Sturgis if I can couple it with something else.

I agree to a point. I love shopping for new stuff, I usually see at least 5 bands, usually more, VIP passes help the enjoyment a bunch, I have lots of friends that I see there, beer! and I hang out with my brother for 4 days which is a good thing.

I still enjoy them. I just wish I can stay a few days instead of riding in/out on the same day. Maybe sometime soon. Been going for about 10 years now. I haven't missed one yet.

I have people in several states working so I use hotels.com to book their room and I get my rooms for free. I like it.

If you get rooms for free you are doing great. Normally $100/night hotels turn into $400/night for the rally.

I actually got two rooms. One for me and one for a friend of mine. It is about 15 miles out of town. Close enough for me.

You'll enjoy the ride. I love gliding over the causeway everytime I go. I think that's why I mainly go just to ride over it. After all my first rally I ever attended was Lone Star Rally and I haven't missed one in the last 11 years.

Update guys. I am not going to be able to attend the Lonestar Rally this year and the people I was going with can't either. Consequently I have two rooms. One with two double beds and one with a king bed. Check in on the 1st and check out on the 5th. All I ask is you pay me back for the taxes. I get the rooms for free but have to pay taxes and such. It will be $150.00 for both rooms. $150.00 total. If I have no takers by Monday I will go ahead and cancel them. Pm me or send me an email.
