Just wanted to pass on this information. Jeff (smooth x) is going to be leaving for Iraq this Tuesday, 1/8. He'll be gone for about 6 months. He's been staying close to home, for obvious reasons, for the last few weeks. I'm sure he would appreciate a few words from those of you that know him, and I wanted to give you the opportunity.
Jeff, Thanks you for your service. You're in our thoughts and prayers, Godspeed, and come home safe.

Jeff - Don't know you personally, but do know plenty of soldiers. Having a son in the service, I am especially appreciative of your willingness to serve this nation. Your service is a very noble and honor-worthy gift that far too few have either the opportunity or the courage to make. - All the best, and God speed in your return home again.

JMDaniel for some of us the Army is everything. Can you please clarify more on what you mean by anyone trusting the Army is a F'ing idiot. I have my career in the Army and trust it to the fullest.May be stupid at times but we get the job done. If you are talking about watch your six then that is the people you work with not the Army. Not trying to stir up anything just wanting to know what you meant by that.

Jeff, I know you'll have a safe and successful deployment. Rest assured that you, Lori, and Landon have an extended family here, and if they need anything while you're gone all they need to do is ask. Vaya con Dios.

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers, I will be leaving around 0330 am in the morning. Well, I sure will miss you guys, but I gotta go keep those guys alive over there. I will send some pictures to RD so he can post them to you guys on the board. Steve, I hope I do not see you over there, that only means one thing, your knocking on deaths bed and I have to struggle to keep you alive. Not that I dont want to see you, but you know what I mean. However, if you find your way to Balad un-injured, then I welcome your presence. God Bless all of you guys, and I will see you this summer.
