Title: New Dunlops?
Post by: bIgPrO on April 23, 2006, 07:37:31 PM
I need a new rear tire. I have a metz but have heard about a new Dunlop. If anyone has a comparison good or bad just sound off.

Running the Elite 3's on mine and am very pleased. Great grip and good wear. Pricey but I think worth the money.

I've run Metler ME880's and loved the "grip". Running Dunlop E3's now, and love 'em. Got 10K+ out of my last rear, and just replaced it.mThey're great wet or dry !!!!!

How much do they cost?

Elite 3's were significantly cheaper than Avons so I put one on the back to thry them out.

I got 14K miles out of my last set of Avons. I don't know how the Elite three's will wear. The Avons felt like they stuck to the pavement better when I have the bike leaned over and am pushing it in a turn. The Avons never felt like they let go in a turn. The 3's feel like they slide laterally just a little.

Not an issue for most cruiser riders. But getting jambed up and having to break hard is. I think the E3's will be adequate but the Avons are better.

You could also try the BattleAxe.  I hear it's a good tire.

Oh, you're still a loser!

I have been running a E-3 on the back of mine for about 9k, When I leave work I have to go over a very very slick part of road, I twisted the wick a little once pulling out onto that part of road and sure enough to @$$ kicked a little.. :o  I think the next tire I get will be something else. The E-3 doesn't grip as well as I would've hoped.. :o

Perdomos, Comancho's,  Hmmmm...

That so called humidor should be at 72%. The reading looks lower!

is $179 a good price for a 200?

Put a Dunlop E3 on rear and loved it so I put one up front.  The E3 on the front gave me a little head shake and tendency to dart and follow.  I will find something else to try next time.

I paid 170 for my 200 2 weeks ago.  It sounds like a good range, but you may be able to do better.
