Kendra's Roadhouse in Bastrop, TX
2804 HWY 21 E
Bastrop, TX 78602
(512) 321-1803
Time: Noon (for Lunch)
Looks like a really good place to eat and should accomodate all of us that will go. Please poll in as I will be giving The Roadhouse a head count closer to the date. Look forward to seeing everyone.

You don't have to make it that close to Austin, they ain't gonna come anyway! :violin:
-
But it does give the Houston and SA group a good ride before lunch.

Sad, but true.
-
on top
-
Crap, that means I have to ride somewhere to eat breakfast and then return home for lunch at the "Roadhouse".
They do have good food, very small inside, but there is a patio/deck outside, I would check for sure on accomodating the group, after you run the numbers!
-
Thanks, will do. Of the two places I read up on and have heard this is the bigger of the two.
-
16 people so far. Not bad. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it.
-
If you are making this ride, and if you went to BBT in 2007, (last year in Luckenbach, I believe), and if you need the pin from that year, lemme know. I was going through my desk this am, and was gonna pitch it, but thought one of you might want it.
-
Not much of a nostalgia guy, eh?
-
Considering I've never taken it out of the package, I'd have to say no. Of course, it is significant, because it's the only time I ever paid the BBT fee. It's also the only one I was welcome to attend. Coincidence?
 :cantbelieve:

Hey, back on track & back on top. Anyone else?
-
The meet and greet is on the 30th and the voiting ends Nov 3 --- :D
So the 30th I planned on going but have a prior commitment (Meeting up with a couple of ole buds at a knife show just north of Warren TX). They do some really good dutch oven cooking, we do it every year can't break the cycle.

No problem. as for the poll end date. I guess i didn't figure the right amount of days. at least no one will say that the poll was closed trying to poll in. :violin:
-
Darn clients is openeing up a new dental office in Houston, with a scheduled go live date of Nov. 1st.
If, they finish the location in time for me to install my gear, i might be working that weekend. Historically, these things never have opened on time..... So.... I may not be able to make it after all, so change me + 1 to a maybe.
-
ill put my count in once i know ill be free that weekend - if im working already
-
I'm going to be up in Austin that weekend anyway, so it'll work out great for me. Might even have one or two additional people with me beyond the +1 that I included in my response, but I'm not sure about that yet. As far as the meeting place is concerned, I'm not familiar with it although I lived in Bastrop from 1999 thru 2003. If you've scoped it out, I have no doubt that it is good, but I can also suggest some other places in town that will accomodate a larger group if necessary.
Looking forward to it and thanks for taking the initiative to organize the Meet 'N Greet.

Have you ever heard of Mott's Texas, Dusty, that's where it is at like a general store, can't miss it if your passing through. They will have rows of knife vendors and folks cooking pie's and stew's in dutch ovens. lots of good food and some really kool knives -- all above my price range. I just go for the food and hanging out with my buddies.

No, but that doesn't mean I haven't driven through it a million times. I like stuff like that, may have to check it out if I don't forget. Not much into knives but have been wanting to check out the dutch oven cooking. I've read up on it but not sure I have the patience. :lunch:

It looks like my wife and I will not be able to make it on the 30th. Family obligation has come up. Please subtract two from the list going.
Thanks,

Must be nice to buy a new vehicle once a month. :banghead:

Well, the other place after i found out how small it was, was Maxine's on main. The roadhouse seems to be a bit bigger for all of us and they have outside seating.
-
i agree maxines probably would have gotten crowded. The roadhouse will be good as long as there is good weather to use the outside decking. Thanks for getting this M & G together and in my neck of the woods.
-
Too far for me this time! :'(

Just doing some consolidating. The 'vette's on the market as well, so I'll be back to two vehicles and the FJR. For a guy that works out of the house, that's enough! If you know anyone in the market for a super clean 2005 Corvette with only 17K on the odometer, and loaded with options, send 'em my way. First $30K takes it!

If the weather happens to turn cooler and you want an inside place, there is Cindy's Gone Hog Wild downtown on the corner.

That would be a good idea too.
-
how big is cindys in town never been there
-
So...........does anyone have any interesting route to take up that way?
-
Paul,
Take a look at this route from 359 in Brookshire to Bastrop. I have gone this way before and it has some cool roads. You can skip the last part through the parks if you want. However, it is a cool road. You are supposed to pay a two dollar fee for the park but I usually do not if I am just driving through.
Take a look and see what you think.

Looks good. Name a place and time to meet up that morning.
-
I will not be able to make it. We have the grand kids this weekend for school carnival and birthday party and other Halloween goings on. I just wanted to make a suggestion on a route that I think is cool.
-
Cindy's should hold about 30-40 people; I would guess.
-
Cindy's Gone Hog Wild is actually several miles west of Bastrop on 71.
-
:c You are right, but they have another place in town, the name is Cindy's Downtown
