Understanding that the size of our group is not your normal dinner party, it is still difficult for me to have patience with an understaffed restaurant. That being said, after last year's experience at Mamacita's, I am proposing an option. The Auslander has great food and drinks, along with live music entertainment on Thursday night. I am not trying to 'compete' with the group dinner, just offering an option to those who may not be aware of what is offered. If there is any interest, I will call and make reservations. :lunch: :c :lunch:

Damn, Hookem...competing against Mexican food is a bold adventure. What kind of food does Auslander serve?

German- American food!! They make up for what they lack with GREAT beer!! :thumbup:

I have no fear of competing with Tex/Mex food. Personally, I'd just as soon have a fold-over bread sandwich!
Auslander has, in my opinion, good food. Not great, one-of-a-kind, write home about food. The atmosphere and the ability to hear live music and have a LARGE group all in one place is what makes this place unique. The pick, as for me, is the jagerschnitzel. Very good stuff!
So, come on, Tex/Mex :boxing:, what ya got?

Is Auslander's truly authentic? Do they serve HOT potato salad with lots of mustard? If so, I'm THERE!!! I'm tired of having to nuke my potato salad to make it halfway right. :boxing:

now Hookem, why you gotta be all like that for and start trouble all the time? :boxing: :stickpoke: :boxing: I too was a little disappointed last year at the service with them knowing in advance the size of the crowd to be served. All in all I think the waitresses did a good job with what or should I say who they were having to deal with. The food there at Mamacita's is good but not the best I've had for Tex-Mex and a change in venue might be OK. I'm sure by this latter date plans are already made with Mamacita's to anticipate X number of people, even though the head count ain't totally in yet.
The Auslander has good food and beer and that sounds like a good alterative destiniation to be considered. The only major problem I can see with Auslander is the parking. Everytime I've been even the back parking lot was overflowing. Personally I don't care where we go just as long as they have COLD Miller High Life!!!!!! :agree:

Well, we are actually looking at alternative restaurants. Mamacitas is closed for renevations and I'm not sure if they will be open on time. we will take this into consideration.

The intent of this was not to bring a total abandonment of Mamcita's. I simply do not care to go back there. So, this was where I thought I would go and just wanted to post the info for anyone who also was not headed to Mamacita's.

No worries, and glad to know. But we ARE looking at alternatives based on current situation with the restaurant. So this may be a good alternative. I really would like to find a place where we can have a room that is large enough for us all. I will be updating the Mamacita's thread once details have been worked out.
