How is the Houston gang riding up?

Pretty sure we'll ride motorcycles :stickpoke:
I'll work up a route and post it,  we can work ot out from there.

Gumbo,

Feel free to modify this one.  It's starts in Willis where I figure would be a good meeting place where we can gas up.  The route is planned around gas stops at a max of 110 miles between.  Don't know your range but am thinking 130-150 before your light comes on plus I like to stretch every 100 miles or so.

I am attaching as a zip of a gpx and also here is the Google Maps Link:

http://goo.gl/maps/IZqbQ

This route goes up to the Talimena trail so we can get a little ride in on the trip up.  After looking at other options it's not likely that we will get there and want to go on a 250 mile ride and this adds only 50 or so miles to the trip up.  Feel free to use some of your knowledge of the area to tweak.

Of course if you have a completely different idea lets see it!!  I am good for 800 miles a day.

Thanks Scott.  You beat me to it.

Actually I thought you were talking about a new route but it got me to thinking, we could head up from MtPleasant to Talahina and take the whole trail instead of half.  I'll work something up and get back to you on that one.

Ok, slight modification (don't have the gpx yet) which takes us along the entire Talimena Trail.

http://goo.gl/maps/4W5OO

Looks like an awesome ride plus 3 states in one day.  Considering that most of it is Texas that is one good ride.  Starts at Shell or Chevron on FM 1097 in Willis and is about 430 miles to the Hotel.

Feel free to modify as you wish.  I don't care which way we go as long as it's interesting.

BTW, somewhere along this route we need to stop and pick up some beer. :c

Scott,

I made a few changes to what you had.  A more direct route out of Texas.  Take a look and see what you think.

Paul, I was thinking early say about 7:00 but I am flexible.

I took the waypoints out and used Citys instead so I could map it on my mobile phone.  The only difference is it takes 3 instead of 271 North of Hugo.  I am good either way and can create a gpx file if anyone wants to load into a GPS.  I don't have GPS so have to program in the next city at every stop. Google Mobile does not really work that well with saved maps.  Ok, doesn't work at ALL with saved maps.

I am good with 7 as well.   That will put us in Mena pretty early even with stops.  Might have to take a ride out to the casino!!

I will map it with my Garmin and I will have it with me.  The only problem with your Google Mobile map is that it is not routing on OK 1/AR 88.  I will fix that with the Garmin map and create a gpx also.  Since we are going to have Gumbo with us it all really does not matter because we will get lost anyway.  :bikerider:

That would work for me.  Looks like we will be leaving out of Willis about 7:00 and I think it is about a 4 hour drive to Paris with stops.  I think that a meet-up there around Noon would work good.

I think we would be in Paris around 10:30-11:00AM.  If you guys don't mind waiting....lets plan it!!

Or...LOL, what David Said.  (just saw it and had to modify).  Noon makes sense as we are probably going to need a bite to eat by then.

You mean 1 North of Tuskahoma right?  I don't have GPS but think I can import the gpx into my Harley Ride planner which in turn will work on Chris' GPS (non-member).  I might have to buy a GPS since I like looking at the data...miles to next turn, distance/time to destination etc.

Hey Gumbo, want to sell me back the TomTom?
