Title: 50th bday next year.
Post by: diverg on May 05, 2017, 08:45:38 PM: So next year I turn the big 50, and I'm hoping to do something special to celebrate it. One thing I've thought about is do a motorcycle tour, and need some suggestions from those that may have done them. I would love to do an international trip, but am open to touring the US. Would probably at the very most have 2 weeks to do it.

Any suggestions for the US or international trips? Self guided or guided trip. I would love to ride New Zealand, but the cost yikes...

Thanks. Took a look at the website and USD prices seem to be in line with other international tours I've checked out. At those prices, I would have to skip doing a moto tour.

Post by: diverg on May 08, 2017, 06:23:37 PM: Things I need to consider is climate. I wilt in heat and humidity so climate is a must consideration for me. Also my bday is in July, but getting 2 weeks off of work in the middle of summer might be hard to do. Going in the January-March would be much easier to get 2 week vacation approval.

My concern is I have no riding experience in mountainous terrain and definitely not twisties in mountains. I would love to get some experience in that type of riding, and my question is what is the closest thing to Texas that would give me some experience?

That's what I was thinking. Now just need a riding partner and the time to do it.
