Motorcycle Safety
« on: May 01, 2007, 08:43:36 AM »

Alright Ladies and Gents.  I'm finally going to take the course in June.  I'm a little intimidated.  So if you have any good advice or words of encouragement please feel free to post comments.  I'm going to need all I can get.   :-\

Be sure to ride wheelies and do burnouts on the bike you use for the course!!  ;D ;D  They like that kind of stuff.  8) Just kidding, just take you time and try to think before you do!  ;D ;D GOOD LUCK!!!

I took it two weeks ago. It's easy. I saw people who never even sat on a bike before pass the course with flying colors. They show you how to do some maneuvers and the rest is common sense.

Pay attention, and do ONLY what they tell you to do. They're usually pretty kewl, but they don't like rebels. You'll have a great time, and gain alot of experience. You'll be surprised at how much you didn't think about. O0

EVERYONE should take the course.  I think you will not only learn a lot but you'll have fun doing it.  I have been trying to get my wife to go and she only rides 2 up with me.  I'll take the advance couse here sometime soon.  I have talked to people who have been riding for 40 yrs. and they are thinking about taking the advance course at the same time.  Make sure you have all the required clothes. DITTO on BOTH!!

Just pretend you have no clue what a motorcycle is and you'll do fine and come out a MUCH better rider in the end.

But be careful on the emergency braking skills - my wife did an awesome stoppie and even impressed the instructors that she didn't drop it when it came down!!  ;D ;D ;D

I took the course a couple of years ago.  I had a great time.  I laughed alot.

We all encouraged each other and had a really good time.

It doesn't look like you are shy, so it should be a good time.

I have no experience so its something that I need to do.  I wouldn't be comfortable if I didn't.

You'll be very glad you did. I was riding for a bit and took the class shortly after my first accident.
