PGR saturday - UPDATED
« on: November 25, 2008, 11:05:36 PM »

there is a PGR ride this saturday. gonna be a big one, first time that they will be having a memorial service on base that the PGR will attend. if you plan on making this there are some things you need to know about riding on base. Must haves: DOT helmet, over the ankle boots, bright colored long sleeve shirt or reflective vest to be worn over long sleeved jacket, long pants, eye protection if helmet doesn't have a face shield,  and full fingured gloves. i plan on attending this, finally got the bike back together with the newly painted tins. anybody want to ride along let me know. ride safe.

hey lex, the itinerary keeps changing. i've gotten 3 e-mails since i posted this thread. as soon as i know for sure i'll post the info. it looks like now that the memorial will not be on base therefore disregard the part about the must haves in the first post. i'll try to get some good info and let you know.

OK, heres the info. i'm told this is correct barring any last minute changes. this is copied directly from the e-mail i recieved.

Memorial/Interment:

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, 29 November 2008, beginning at 1400 hours at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home on Hwy 195 in Killeen, Texas with interment at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas beginning at 1500 hours.

Memorial Staging: Memorial Service staging will be held in Killeen, Texas at the club complex parking lot at the intersection of Elms Road and Hwy 195 beginning at 1230 hours. KSU to Crawford Bowers Funeral Home will be at 1300 hours.

Interment Staging:

For those who cannot attend the memorial service at Crawford Bowers or who choose not to; we will have an Interment staging at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery beginning at 1330 hours to prepare the cemetery for the arrival of SFC Wilson and family. CTSVC is located on Hwy 195 in Killeen, Texas.

I implore each rider who can be present to make the journey to Killeen to Stand Tall & Silent in honor of SFC Wilson and be a comfort to his family. It's also a fine time for those PGR members who cannot attend weekday missions to stand for a true American Hero.

typically, after the memorial the PGR will escort the family to the cemetary. no information was posted on this but it should be assumed.
