Saddlebag repair help
« on: February 27, 2009, 10:07:26 PM »

I have a pair of Hondaline saddlebags for my 1800 and one of them has the (hindge)seam coming undone.  does anyone know of a place in the Austin / Round Rock area that can re-sew these?

Thanks,

Tim

Sorry about that. I thought he sewed everything, and I know he's hurting for work.

He said he did not have the right sewing machine for saddlebags.  I guess the leather is to thick.  Since I do not sew, I will take his word for it.

The holes from the previous sewing should already/still be there, so just get some heavy duty string and stitch it back up...

Yah,  Thought about that but I am not that good at it.  I might give it a try and see how it goes but may end up taking it someplace as it might be hard.

If that don't do it, go for black duct tape!   :ohwow:

I actually took the saddlebag top by today to Cowboy Bob and  he was able to re-sew it for me.  It was his first but did a fine job for a cheap price.

Thanks for everyones help...
