I've been, Knoxville's where Becky & I went to school and was less than 165 miles from where we lived. It's really not that big a deal IMHO, but have fun if it's what you want to do. East TN is gorgeous and you'll like that part...if it isn't raining.

thanks for the input.  It looks like beautiful country and we are trying to ride someone  :-*  somewhere new each year.  This will be new and from what I hear, we are going to be pretty close to the dragon.

The Hoot is okay.  We really didn't find too many deals with all the Vendors but the countryside is worth going.  Deals Gap is not far away.  Go there and get your T-Shirt or sticker, definitely.  Try to go early on a Tuesday morning.  That should help with the Superbike factor.   ;)  The ride to the Tail is probably the best part.  The Cherhola Skyway is absolutely beautiful.  Also, you may want to check out the ride to the Motorcycle Museum.  Nice ride, good lunch, and many neat old bikes that all still crank up.

Another ride to consider is over to Asheville, NC to see the Biltmore Estate.  It's amazing.  It's supposed to be the largest house in America.  Plus you can go to the winery out back and have a tasting.   O0

As was said earlier, if it's not raining.  We got stuck on top of a mountain at 6000 ft and had a bout 5 inches fall on us in an hour.  That sucked.   >:(
Here are a couple of pics...

Cherahola Skyway...

Top of the Tail...

Bottom of the mountain that dumped all the water...

Remember the Superbike factor that I spoke about???

The Biltmore's front yard...

Have fun!!!   O0

That is great input and I wll need to rethink our activity.  We are planning to leave Saturday morning, possibly Friday afternoon but Friday is my birthday so I'm not sure I want to be sitting in the RV that night.  The goal is to arrive Sunday night so we can ride easily Monday and Tuesday.  Again, thanks.

Joey -- we should definitely try to hook up.  We will be staying in Clinton at an RV park; it is about 20 miles north of downtown Knoxville.  PM me if you don't have our cell numbers.
