That made it all worthwhile. The one thing that would help them in the future is have it on a non holliday weekend and try and have more bike related vendors. The best part it was inside man it was a hot one yesterday.

Had friends that invited us to go, but we couldn't.  Caught up with them today, they said it was a waste of time and $.  Guess I'm glad I couldn't go.

As a biker it was disapointing not enough bikes, bike stuff, etc. As a vendor I felt a little misled the floor plan they showed me had two additional halls looked like it was going to be great. They layout was unorganized blah blah blah, but we ended up doing good enough. I know it was a first time show which are always hard, graduations and holiday weekend I am sure didn't help either.

Don't forget to go to Hana around the north side. I wouldn't want to take the whole trip on a bike. (I'm not brave like Red Dragon.)  :pot:

Back from Maui, Hawaii.
I did the entire road to Hana and back in less than five hours one day.  That included stopping about ten times for pictures and lunch............all while on a Harley and in and out of tropical rain storms twice!  I loved it.  It was about 42 miles of nothing but switch backs, water falls and tight turns with 500 foot drop offs and no guard rails. In a car you would average about 10-15 miles an hour on this road. Awesome ride and trip.

Here's my rented steed.  A 2011  96 C.I. Heritage Softail with only 461 miles on it.

42 miles of motorcycle nirvana.
In both of these pics, It's a shear drop off about five feet in front of me.  Look at the far sea shore coast in the second pic.  That's what it looks like just in front of me at my feet.  That's a long waaaaaaaaay down if you miss this turn.  You only have about ten feet of flat shoulder through sparce spindly bushes, then no guard rail before you're over the edge.............. if you go wide on this turn!

The road to Hana is full of blind hair pin turns.
In the second pic........It's about an 800 foot shear drop off on the far side of that turn (just past the top of the tree you can see).............and no guard rail.  :ohwow:
All of the white marks you can see on the road are from rocks that have fallen off of the 100 foot ledged cliff to the above right on the inside of the turn.  The road to Hana is pot marked with bolder impacts.  While I didn't have a close encounter with a falling boulder while riding, there were plenty of them still in the middle of the road.  Most of the time just after a blind turn.  :ohwow:

The end of the road stops in Hana on the east side of Maui at the Hana Beach Park.  A beautiful ocean beach front cove with pitch black sand and huge rocks.  Quite a contrast from the other side of the Island were the sand is white.

This is a pic of us (my sisters family and I) at the top of the crater on the 10,000 foot Haliaukala volcano at sun set.  It was 84 degrees at sea level and then 42 degrees and sleeting when we got up to the top of the crater.  I only had my mesh jacket so it a bit nippy for me on the way up.  My sister talked me out of my Lone Star Rally T shirt and my niece Kelly talked me out of my jacket.
Nothing but switch backs from 3000 feet all the way to the top and beautiful views at sunset!

I was blessed with having my niece Megan ride with me for half a day along the West coast of Maui.  Her first time ever on a bike. It was a shame it had to be on a Harley!  :banghead:
She was a great first time passenger and I'll always remember that ride with her.  I have to say thanks to her mom (my sister Laura) for trusting Uncle Mike with such precious cargo.  :notworthy:

Taking a break on the road to Hana.  There's always a 30-40 mph wind blowing on the coast.

I'll end this with a pic I took at an unexpected event on the first night we got to Maui.
Earlier in the day during a walk on the beach, we came upon a golf coarse that was preparing for an outdoor concert.  Band roadies were setting up a large outside stage on the 17th fairway of this golf coarse next to the beach. Later that night we went back there and sat on the ground behind the stage to hear the concert.  We found a spot only about 20 feet behind the drummer.  It was a non-publicized private event so the general public (us and only about 80 people that had gathered) were not allowed in front of the stage. I found out who the performer was so I gathered my nieces and nefew and took them to a side stage entrance where I expected the band would soon be entering the stage from so we could get a close up view of the performer. It turned out to be a private concert with rock icon Carlos Santana!  I caught him as he was making his way to the stage.  I yelled hello to him and he waved back to us at the moment I took the pic.  Later durring the concert, the drummer broke a stick and he looked over his right shoulder and tossed it at us.  My nefew got his stick. After a moment of him looking at the stick, he looks at me and says........"So who is this Carlos Santana?"
God......... I felt old!
That was a great way to start what turned out to be a great vacation!  If you ever get the chance, go to Maui!
