Title: I hope I don't sound like an idiot...but what did this mean?
Post by: Gothicguy on May 26, 2006, 08:02:26 AM
Yeah, I know somebody will take the bait on that subject line.

I weas in a bar wearing a shirt with a refelctive American flag backgroud inside of maltese crosses.  A guy who was hanging with a Boozfighter walked over and told me it was a nice shirt. I thanked him, told him I got it at Full Board in Euless.  He then asked me, "Are you ace duece?"

What the heck was he asking me?

He wanted to know if Brokeback Mountain was your "fav" movie of the year.  If it was, he probably wanted to take you to see it again.

I just knew somebody would make a brokeback comment.  Being as this was a...gentlemen's..bar, I wouldn't think so though.

There's a music artist by that name, but not sure if that's what he was referring too.

I think Mike's right.  I think you were being propositioned.  Acey Duecy was an old game similar to backgammon originally.

acey duecy I remember was a card game where everyone put an amount in the pot, you were delt two cards you could bet part or all the pot whether your next card would be between the first two cards. If it was higher or lower you paid your bet. If it (the thired card) matched one of the first two you paid double your bet. If your first two cards where a pair other than aces you would fold. Aces you could  split I think and play two hands. Lost EVERYTHING I had on this game once. The game is also called in-between. Maby he wanted a threesome, I would NOT go back to that place!!!!

1.     ace-deuce  -  A nickname for the shithole that is Ann Arbor, Michigan. See also, A-squared (A^2, or as those from said town type it, A2). Home of the Michigan Skunkbears.

2.     ace-deuce  -  Ace-Deuce,aka "Ace, Two" is a starting hand in Texas Hold-em, which is deceptively good because you have an ace, but it's really a pile of crap. It will TarterSauce you over a lot, especially if someone else has an Ace with any card higher than a two.

3.     ace-deuce   - 'best friend'   Usage: "Wassup ace-deuce"

I'm thinking this has brokeback written all over it.  ;) :P

I Googled it, here is some of what I got:

ace-deuce: best friend.

acey-deucey: bisexual.

It's hard to tell by what you wrote, but I'd say he either really liked you or didn't like you.  Ex: he's saying you look gay or asking if you are.....or wanting to be your best friend?  Who knows.

I think you did the right thing by leaving well enough alone.  LOL.  Sounds brokeback to me too.

Probably meant or said AC-DC, a older term meaning bi sexual, swinging either way. Acey-duecy probably derived from that, maybe the ebonic form. O0

I have to hand it to the TX X-Riders as being among the most "willing to help" people on the planet.  This is proof that no matter what the topic, you can count on a fellow X-Rider to try to help out.  The topic of this thread is kind of creepy though. :o
