First let me say hi to everyone. I need a new battery for my 2003 VTX 1800 and I am looking at this battery > SSTX20HQ-FP Scorpion Stinger 12v 525 CCA LiFePo4 Quad Terminal Extreme High Output Battery from this website > batterystuff.com. It is pricey at $227.00 and it is lithium. The battery is 10 lbs. lighter then lead acid battery, so that's a plus.
Here is the reason for this battery: I have added a Woody's fairing with a marine radio and a gold wing trunk which has speakers. Because of the added weight and need for more amps to run this.
Has anyone used a lithium battery? Will 525 CCA hurt my bike's electrical system. :bikerider:

no experience with the lithium battery, just bought a gel for my bike. Cost more than lead acid but lot less than the lithium.

The 525CCA won't hurt your system.

Thank you for the info. I never considered a gel battery, so I am going to look into it.

I read on this website comparing AGM batteries to Gel batteries https://www.throttlexbatteries.com/details.aspx?p=A4D3D61DCEB3C859&ppid=59924&beid=4C71C77B4CB63E74 (https://www.throttlexbatteries.com/details.aspx?p=A4D3D61DCEB3C859&ppid=59924&beid=4C71C77B4CB63E74).
This read leads me to believe that AGM batteries are the way for me to go. On a couple of forums, reading about lithium batteries can blow up and I don't want that while sitting on it. So AGM is looking like the way for me to go. Again thanks for everyone's help.

Batteries Plus has a Duracell which is made in the USA, has a 2 year warranty and has more CCA than a Harley stock battery. I think it was around $100 with the online discount code.

That's what I'm running in the wing.
