Mounting Memphis Fats Lowers Installation
« on: April 09, 2014, 10:51:10 AM »

Does anyone have any advice/tips on installing these lowers?  Pics would be appreciated as well.   :needpics:

I've looked through the interwebs, and have seen them installed right-side up / upside down, behind & in front of the blinker, and mounted above & below the lower triple tree.   :idontknow:   :banghead:

I've attached a pic of what I've got so far, loose install, no riding yet...   :c

cruisercustomizing.com had a package deal for a 30% giftcard when you bought 3 items totaling $300+ from certain groups last month.  It didn't take much drinking to buy 4 windshield items, and then blow the $130 giftcard a few days later!   :c

I already have them mounted just like the instructions (in the picture), but it does not instruct the best place to mount them on a VTX.  There are quite a few options...

When I mounted mine the clamps were kind of loose so I had an old bicycle innertube and cut it down to width, rapped it around once, and installed it under the clamps and works like a champ!   :c

Is the reduction of wind significant using these lowers?

Yes you will notice a big reduction in head buffing.  :c :c

Note* If the clamps on the shocks are to loose, take a piece of rubber (aka bikecycle intertube) and cut a strip as wide as the clamp and will make 1 wrap around the shock, then mount. Holds great. Notice my pic above and you can see the rubber under the clamp.
