Title: You Guys Rock!
Post by: Mulla on May 16, 2015, 11:54:22 PM
Today, in the mail I received a well written Get Well Card from the Texas X Riders that left me and Kim both choked up.  In it was a check with Janatha and Bob's winnings from the poker walk and 50/50, I am at a loss of words at the generosity and want to Thank You guys from the bottom of our hearts.

We are doing a lot better, Kim is almost back 100% and started normal activities, which is watching a couple of the grand kids during the week, this is helping her mentally. As for me, I'm feeling great, can't wait for the bones to heal so I can get back to normal activities myself so I can start repairing the bike.

About 5 years ago when I owned a VTX 1300 I met a great group of guys, Gumbo(yep Gumbo), Chad, Gary and a few others from the Texas X Riders when they came visit the Crawfish Festival in Breaux Bridge, La. At that time they invited us to the BBT rally which y'all hold every year. Well it took a couple of years before we were able to attend, but we did so last year and met some more awesome people. We had a great time and couldn't wait to go back again this year. Since it is such a long haul for us, we arrived on Monday to make it a week long event for us and had a wonderful day riding the area with Jim and Janatha Tuesday before our unfortunate accident Wednesday morning. Although we had a shortened trip and weren't able to meet everyone but those old and new friends we did see once we returned to the campground warmed our hearts with genuine concern and well wishes made us feel better. I really hated to leave because I knew some good times were going to be had and new friends were going to be made.

So Today when I got the mail, it just reassured what I knew from day one of meeting this group, You Are A Class Act and I am proud to know all of you!

We are really hoping we can attend again next year and will try our hardest to do so.

God Bless you all!

David, the group is Class Act because its members, including you and Kim make it that way.

Looking forward to seeing you and Kim again

You and Kim have become an important part of the Texas X Riders. Take care, heal quickly. Good Luck getting the bike back together. BTW I still want to "invade Louisiana" and maybe get the La. group revved up again. God Bless

You and Kim and the rest of the Texas X Riders are the reason Libby and I love riding to the hill country every year.  It is one of our major holidays that we have on our calendar.  Good riding, good times, but it's the good friends that makes it a wonderful trip.
I hope to see you soon...and I'm up for a ride to La.  Glad you are healing up.

The group was put together to have good times together, and it is again. We are glad to have you and Kim,  Mulla, along with the rest of the "newer " group. You missed Alejandero's " Guide to white studs" speech Thursday night, but seeing the caring and loving looks between you and Kim say's you didn't need it anyway, even if you aren't from Argeeeeeenteeenya, lol. When you got back to camp you showed what you're made of by the way you handled everything. You're an Cranberries(not done yet)et to the group, look forward to seeing ya'll again.

Thanks for the Kind words everyone.

Snake, I was looking forward to hanging out with Alejandero, too bad I missed his speech, but it must have worked on Gumbo because I did see a photo of him on the back of Alejandero bike :t

Update on my condition...I had been experiencing dizziness when laying flat in bed on my left side and mentioned it to the ENT yesterday, they did a "dizzy" test on me and I was diagnosed with BPPV vertigo, I've heard of vertigo but not of BPPV vertigo. They told me that BPPV is the good kind of Vertigo to have because it is very easily cured with one or two treatments of head movements called the Epley Maneuver.  They described BPPV Vertigo as small crystals "rocks" of calcium getting loose in your inner ear canals and which throws your equilibrium off. The Epley Maneuver helps put these crystals back in place.

So Basically I Got the 'Rocks' in My Head shook up Pretty Good, :banghead: hopefully the Epley Maneuver cured it. That could explain why I didn't have any brain damage, my head is full of Rocks :ohwow:

Take Care and Hope to See You All Soon

I have never heard of that...I guess I need to get Libby and I tested...or maybe it's all the vodka libby drank and the 14 Shiners I had at the 11st St Bar.

...... and the 14 Shiners I had at the 11st St Bar.

You see all that beer just pisses me off......literally.....just the getting up to piss every 20 minutes makes me steer clear of too much beer.  just not enough pay off.  Good'ole jack is my bud.

Latest Update!!!

Kim is healed physically but not mentally, she still not wanting to get back on the bike, I am not trying to sway her decision, just giving her time to heal.

I am finally cleared by all doctors to return to work in the morning 7/06/15! Never thought I would be so excited to go to work, but I am.  The doctor wants to put my pinkie in another brace to try to straighten it, right now it is curled and makes it difficult to put on gloves. I will be restricted to inside duty and have to be 'shadowed' for 2 weeks. Since I had a head injury, I think they just want to make sure I am not cra-cra before allowing me to wander in the plant. :banghead:  In the meanwhile, after getting cleared from the doctor to use my hand, I have been working on my bike. I have her ready to ride once AJ installs the new back motorcycle tire.   I was hoping to ride it for my first day of work but it just didn't work out but I should have for Bike night Wednesday.  Looking forward to riding with you guys next spring! :bikerider:

that is great news.  I know you are biting at the bit to get working/riding again, but just make sure to take it slow.  Sometimes a person is surprised to find out that they are not quite as physically ready as they are mentally.

That's great news.  Glad to hear the bike is almost back together.  I'm sure it would have been a he11 of a surprise for your co-workers to see you roll up on a motorcycle after a motorcycle accident.  In all fairness though, I would most likely do the same.

Gary, sounds like a plan, send me a message when you will be here. It will be nice to see ya!

Lucky and Steve, I have a great boss, he is keeping me on a tight reign and won't let me overdo anything.

Chad, Yes, I've given up the car tire. As much as I loved the ride and traction of the car tire, I honestly feel it was the reason I crashed, the bead broke too easy from the rim, especially since it was a run flat tire. I removed the tire from the rim to inspect the tire and rim and didn't see any issues with the tire other than the puncture which lead to the rapid air loss. I did notice a build up of the tire mounting lube along the bead of the rim which I thought was excessive and may have played a part in the bead breaking. It was a freak accident but it is NOT worth the risk, I consider myself lucky to be able to ride again, I am not gonna press my luck. ;)
