Ok, we are inviting all the Texas X Riders to come join us! This statewide meet and greet is done in conjunction with a Great Rally called the White Buffalo Bikefest http://www.whitebuffalobikefest.com/2008/
Yep...you got it a concert is part of the weekend events too O0
The Rally is held in October, so the weather is nice and its growing quickly!! They expect another 6000 or more registered riders again this year. We have riders coming all the way from Spring Texas already (467 miles) and this is a RETURN TRIP for them. They came last year, so to make that run again...you know they had a great time!!
There are campsites available for RV's and LARGE tent areas. I will try and rope off an area for our VTX group again. Hotels are available in town, and for those who have been before...they are in the process of building 2 new large hotels...to keep up with the growing number of people attending.

I'll bring a gas grill down to the camp area, and we can throw together a good meal there.
By doing the meet and greet during the rally, it allows everyone to get together AND also enjoy a great rally, along with a decent concert each year also. I would sure like to see 50+ VTX's lined up along the fence in the camping area, so come join us out here!!

Make the trip, get the memory foam mod done while at the rally! You'll be glad you did! (or you can always trailer...)

I'm in for the meet. i'll be heading out 6 am saturday so if i'm lucky i'll be there by lunch. checked mapquest and it puts it at about 300 miles, it'll be a nice ride. i'll see if i can't drag a few central guys up there with me. definetly interested in the windfarm tour if possible. keep the post updated and ride safe.

Just made a 220 round trip and have to say, need to get a fix for this stock seat, I am working on it. sound like a great time. I'll jump in if I can swing a new seat. O0

Sounds good Gumbo. There are two other riders coming from Spring Texas. If you know Dar Dave or Beca, you might be able to head up as a group. They are both on the site. Have a good week, and good luck on the new seat. I know what you mean too...we are headed to Ruidoso in a few weeks, and after our last 250 mile trip, my A$$ was wanting an aftermarket seat....LOL.

I'll be bringing a heavy-duty custom reinforced fold up chair for my Cranberries, I'll bring that replacement I promised too!

Turkey Roost Snake?? Whats that all about...fill me in. I went to the post on it, but there was only 3 entries and I didnt get much info on it?? Austin aint too far for us...no farther than Ruidoso which is in 3 weeks and we are headed WEST!! cant wait. Give me more info on the Turkey Roost thing, and its possible we can come down for that. If its in March, I can tell ya its a maybe. If it was in April, I'd probably have to pass due to Turkey season. UNLESS....someone is going to invite me out for a mornng hunt along with a Meet and Greet!! LOL

Well... I finally got around to it.
For those that didn't come, we had our very own fenced in campsite area, with a circle drive, bathrooms, showers. Inside the loop ( not the one you're thinking of Swampy...) a huge pavillion with tables for eighty, BBQ grilles, horseshoe pitching area with poles and backstops, volleyball area with net, lights, campfire area. At least two acres or better. Reeaall nice! ;D

All in all, the best campin' and camraderie (no, thats NOT another word for brokeback)
I've had in a long time. I even spent a half a day making improvements to my bike... but...thats another story! :-X

Bob, add Keith Boatler to the list... He went to BBT3 with me and was the guy on the Shadow 1100 at WBBF last year. He's making the trip again. Do you remember if there was an electrical outlet there by our campsite? I thought I remembered seeing on by the fence. He's bringing a golf cart to take cruizing around the zoo... hahaha...

I dont remember there being an electical outlet close to the camp area. If I have some time tomorrow, I'll walk on over there and look. I got him added to the list also.
If there isnt an outlet, he can just haul it over to our house for a charge. No big deal O0

What got me started on this meet and greet Idea was you VTREX....remember your posting about "Statewide meet and greet, who when where"...thats what got this whole ball rolling for me actually. It's all good, we'll try and make a few of these other VTX events in the future because then I'll be able to give you crap too...LMAO! O0 That Spring Thing 09 might be a good one to attend....sounds like I may need to bring some beads for that one O0
FOR ANYONE STILL NOT SURE...go to the Other Rallies Page, and read through the posting. Its this weekend, and it should be a great time for everyone thats coming out. And with Texas being so big..i know its next to impossible to get a big turnout at any one event.
So far this year, we went to ROT which was awesome although we didnt put much mileage on the bike. Then we hit the Lubbock rally and put about 700 miles on the bike in 3 days. Then we went to Ruidoso NM and put 1300 miles on the bike in 5 days, so I guess we'll have to fill our calender with a few more events next year VTrex...hope to see ya there, or here.
I'll keep an eye on the Upcoming Rallies/Meet and Greets, and see which ones we may be able to attend. That way you can give me SH...t in person too... O0

Snake, from what i saw on the other post, it's gonna be at the rally grounds. They have a place reserved for all us campers back in the corner of the zoo. (check the map) rbljack said he has a bunch of deer meat, fixins and a grill...first come first served. At least that's where I plan to "meet and greet". Free food and if Tomcat comes thru...maybe free beer...lol... Hope to see ya there.

Thats correct, we are all going to meet up at the VTXOA/ Texas X camp area for the meet and greet. The Dinner will be on friday night from 4 PM until the Night Parade, and then again AFTER the parage until whatever time in the Early AM. The reason its starting at 4pm is because I was Volunteered (by my wife....LOL) to work the gate on friday. Originally, I wanted to be in the camp area all afternoon friday to meet everyone coming in, etc. BUT....its all good, I'll get done at 4pm and be at camp after that until the parade starts/ and back again after the parade until we call it a night (or morning...LOL)
I'll be bringing burgers (venison) up for that, and my grill will be there for anybody that wants something else like steak or chicken etc. By doing it at the rally, people can come and go as they want, and stop in and say hi whenever. If we arent around...stop by later in the evenings...because we may be out riding or whatever.
If you dont make the Meet and Greet dinner on Friday, we can catch up in the camp area over the weekend on Saturday or sunday too. EVERYBODY is welcome to come by the camp anytime during the weekend and say hi. Our camp area is marked from the road with a banner that says
"Welcome VTXOA/ Texas X Riders"

New front tire, new oil, freshly washed & what not, and new pcIII map... I am ready to roll! Got a meeting at 10am, as soon as it's over, I'm hittin' the road!
Got a decent route through the wind farm planned, some good info on the farm and turbines, and hopefully one of the guys from Invenergy will meet us out there...
Can't wait!
