So, I don't know the procedure...never done anything like this....how does this work? I just show up and say I am with TexasXRiders? What then? Is there something happening during this time? I guess at 7PM it would be a good idea to have lodging arrangements as well. Sorry about the questions, just never been to a rally.
-
On the Friday of the LSR we just meet up at the restaurant the Spot. Feel free to park anywhere you can around the place you can find as it's usually pretty packed. Order your food and then take the stair all the way to the top and towards the rear of the building and you'll see a section saying reserved. It's all ours and plenty of space. Some people will just show up for the M & G and if you haven't made lodging arrangements already, I highly doubt you will find any now unless someone cancels and you are the person calling right after them.
Come one and have a good time.

Working on a camper situation...we'll see how that works. If I can't get a place to sleep I am probably not going to make the M&G. As of now, I am planning on it...just not sure I want to ride through Houston to get there.
-
I've had luck in the past with calling Dellarena RV park at the last minute. people always seem to cancel 409-797-5102, but don't hold your breath, that park gets plus all other within area get packed almost 100% by bikers.
-
Looks like 14 people attending so far. Doing good, doing good. I'm so ready for this rally.

Rocket67, my husband and I have been members of TXR for many years. We are well known especially amongst the H-Town people (since we live south of town). I say all that to preface that we would like to offer our hospitality to you (and family) if you want to go to the LSR and are not able to secure lodging. We live in the country, in a little community called Rosharon which is 30 miles south of Houston. We live on property where you can hook an RV up (unless it requires 50amp power). The ride to Galveston is not over an hour from here and is very nice...not lots of traffic. You would be welcome to come down on the Friday, hook up and then ride with us to LSR or just meet us there if you want to go earlier in the day. I would even offer to feed you breakfast on Saturday, LOL. I like to cook....ask those who have shared a campsite with me at BBT.

That is a heck of an offer and we might be taking you up on that. I need to see if we can secure a bike trailer then we can just bring the RV. As far as hookups, we have a generator built in but it is much quieter to plug in. Not sure which one we need but I will check. We (me, wife, brother & his) haven't finlaized anything yet but it's looking like we will be going. I'll get back to you if we can take you up on your offer.
THANKS!!

Already working on getting the camper. My brother rents it out so we have to see if it's available. I am already looking forward to breakfast!

 :agree:

For those that received card from Mark, if you get there early and see any VTX pass them a card and invite them to the spot, try to generate some new members. Even if you don’t have cards, and see a VTX stop and talk it up.
The more folks we can get involved as active members, the easier it will be to pull off events.

-
I will see you all there!
-
Woo Hoo...glad to see you will be there Carol...I will work extra had to make sure I am there...it has been a longggggg time since we have seen each other.

Looks like I'm going to make the Rally this year! I'll be there with 4 or 5 friends from the American Legion Riders. Is it ok if I bring them along to the M&G?

Looks like I won't be able to make the Rally. Economics and scheduling have made it impossible for me to be there. :cuss:
-
Just got all four of my wisdom teeth out on Monday (October 28), so I'm still on a restricted diet (liquids and soft foods) as well as pain meds. I'm healing quickly though, and hopefully I'll be able to show up for the Meet 'N Greet, even if just to visit. I expect to have completely weaned myself off the pain meds by then, but wearing a helmet may still not feel comfortable, so I'll be caging it.
-
I am sorry to say, I am not going to make the Lone Star Rally this year. I am in IL, at the hospital, with my Dad. Rush trip up on Tues. No idea when I will be home.

There's a new law that you have to offer test rides when you get another bike that isn't an X. I'll ride Paul's Glide, and then I'll take yours for a spin.
;D. :stickpoke:
-
Looking forward to seeing everyone!
-
Sorry guys and gals. Started heading down and had to go back home. Looks like I have a clutch issue. I will drive my truck down tomorrow.
Any help is appreciated. Here are the symptoms:
Bike in neutral and running while on side stand. Pull in clutch and bike shuts down.
While sitting at a stop light bike stopped like I put the side stand down. would not start again for about 10 min.
Bike in neutral not running, pull in clutch and neutral light goes out.
I will post in garage as well. Thanks
-
Enjoyed seeing everyone and good to begin getting back out .It was good to meet ya Two Thumbs.
-
Well that was a cold, wet ride home. I got caught in a downpour on 45 and had to find a place to pull over because the bike was bogging down. Freakin' weatherman! :banghead:
Good food and friends! :c
-
Was nice meeting Larry and MrVTX. Glad you made it home safe man
-
It was good to see all that showed up. Like MrVTX we got rained on while going home.....weather said it was supposed to be clear all night...oh well, it was worth it to get out and socialize. Larry357, it was good to see you out again.
Carol, we are all hoping to hear some good news coming about your dad. Please keep us informed.
-
Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers. We are on a hold pattern for the weekend, never do much on weekend. Tests start on Monday. Taking it one step at a time. Got to fix one problem before moving on to the next. Sure missed seeing everyone!
-
It was nice seeing everyone and meeting some new folks as well. Was a great night even thought it rained a little but not enough to scare anyone. we'll see you soon.
