#2 December 1st Saturday DFW Toys for Tots
Boulder Blues (Texas X board) Thanks for this info I stole from your post. Many of you have already commited to this one The more the merrier
This year, the route is mostly rural and there are some twisties to keep an eye on.
A Route Plan is included on the Metroplex Marines website (www.metroplexmarines.com) under "Events" for 12/1/2007. We chose this route to provide a good mixture of back roads and in town riding. We will be going through rural Collin County, downtown Princeton and finishing up along mostly industrial Route 380. We will take it nice and easy.
We will have traffic assistance from the City of McKinney, Collin County Sherriff's Dept., City of Melissa Police and the City of Princeton Police. All intersections will be covered fro a smooth ride throughout. As always, the Marines will be providing our lead vehicle.
If you are interested in riding with us, we ask that you:
Fill out the Pre-Registration information at http://www.plano-vfw.org/tft/
Fill out the Entry Release form found below the Pre-Registration and email to dk.marks@verizon.net or Hans_Schuller62@yahoo.com, or print it out bring it with you to the Ride. If all else fails, we'll have plenty of blank forms at the Ride.
If you emailed your Release form to us, your printed registration form will be waiting for you when you arrive at the VFW Post.
All you need to do is go to the pre-registration table when you arrive at the Post and sign it and you are good to go.
If you have any trouble with the http://www.plano-vfw.org/tft/ site, all information and forms are also located at www.metroplexmarines.com under Events for 12/1/2007.
We'll also be having Pre-Registration opportunities on November 17th at the Harley Davidson of Dallas in Allen and Garland from 11:00 – 1:00, and at the McKinney Family PowerSports on November 17th from 11:00 – 1:00, as well.
We will also be taking Pre-Registration forms at a Pre-Ride Party at Bullwinkles Pub and Bistro in Plano on November 30th from 8:30 – 10:30 pm. Bullwinkles is located at the NE Corner of Custer Road and Spring Creek Pkwy. Live music and a great variety of beer.
We'll have a live band at the VFW Post, Fatal Formality, for your entertainment on the day of the Ride.
Food and drink will be available to purchase at the Post – coffee and breakfast before the ride, lunch and refreshments after the ride.
There will be vendors and sponsors that will be providing you opportunities to see what they have to offer; please give them a look see. There are also opportunities to purchase ride souvenirs…t-shirts, challenge coins, pins and patches – cash only.
All proceeds for the ride souvenirs are donated to the DFW Toys for Tots Foundation.
And of course, we will be collecting toys and cash donations for the DFW Toys for Tots toy drive.
Thank you and we'll see you in McKinney.

Well the weather was ideal, the run started on time was slow the first 7 miles or so then picked up to a nice pace. Most common estimate I heard on the number of benevolent brothers and sisters today was 2800. Another day in paradise. See some of you on December 1st.
-
# 2 on the 4 Kids hit list coming up this Saturday. Hope to see many of you there in Big Mac (McKinney)
-
I'll be there!
-
Is there a plan for the toy run this Saturday the 1st to meet up somehere.
-
This may be late notice, but we can probably meet at Maxim in one of there conference rooms to organize and/or plan. They will provide coffee and donuts. :D :D I was sent an email by the store manager Chris regarding any rides we want to put together. He said they would love to set up one of their conference rooms (at no charge) for us to plan routes and such. O0 O0He also offered store coupons (% off) via email if you like as well. PM me if your interested and I'll pass on your addresses. We can all meet there then proceed to the VFW if everyone wants to.
-
that's got potential I'm still watching the weather however as mentioned in the original post anyone that wants to meet at my house is free to do so. I'm in McKinney close to 121 and Lake Forest just let me know

I know you know I'm kidding. Every time I see it I feel bad. You have been so nice about the whole thing that I felt comfortable giving you a jab. It was only 1/2 a shaker of salt and the lid was loose. :P :P :P

Okay just talked with Scott who did not make contact with Maxim today Soooo Anyone that wants to do the Toy Run tomorrow is more than welcome to meet at my house. I will have coffee and donuts but would appreciate some kind of head count tonight if possible. The parade leaves the McKinney VFW at 10:30 AM The VFW is about 15 - 20 minutes from my place. We can gather at 9:30 which gives us time for a cup of Joe and intros. I live on Lily Court in McKinney Hwy121 west of 75 then North on Lake Forest 1 mile Left on McKinney Ranch Pkwy quick first right on Acorn, first left on Evergreen, first left on Lily I'm at the end (cul-de-sac) on the left with all the trees. My bike will be out front.
-
I will be there if no rain. w/a rider.
-
I'll be there too. But no coffee for me.

I'm running straight up 35 W thru Ft. Worth to Denton and then cutting south to Corinth to the Harley shop. I back roaded from 35 to the back side of the Harley shop last year and it took a lot longer so------------

Ya I took the bike up to Maxim this morning and it was a crappy, the wind sucks. I went from a quick tire change to letting them do the full service package as well. I hope the weather is better for the next run, if not at least ill have new 880's and it shouldnt matter if its bad out, the bald dunnies were getting real hard to corner. Hope you guys have a safe and fun ride....
-
Boulder,
Don't forget to let that tire get scuffed in real well before you get to agressive, especially on a wet street :o :o
