Title: Good to be Gumbo
Post by: Gumbo on November 26, 2016, 04:30:48 PM
Took a ride today about 2hrs, stopped several places in the middle of nowhere, when I pulled up in my drive she died on me with error code 13! :ohwow:
Front injector, could be injector it's self or wiring, most likely wiring as I just did a valve check and tied up all my wiring.
Point is it could have happened in the woods at the lake, but it happened in my driveway, it's good to be Gumbo
Only big deal is I filled up the tank and have full tank of gas  :redcard:
Be back on the road tomorrow not going to deal with it today, just one luck son of a gun :c :c :c

Found the problem, used the manual to trouble shoot up to a point, voltages did not match because of power commander, but long story short, the power commander cable to injectors was sitting on exhaust pipe, shorted out :ohwow:
Repaired burnt wires tied the cable up off exhaust and now ready for another road trip :c :c
Dang VTX will make you think you smarter than you are :redcard: ;D

Glad you were able to trace the problem. You definitely lucked out by having the bike quit in your driveway.

Glad it didn't happen in Arkansas but if it did, maybe you would be riding that new Africa Twin!
