Bellville for Lunch
« on: March 28, 2008, 07:39:38 AM »

Me, Mike and John are planning a short ride tomorrow for lunch since I have to be back home by 2:00. We are meeting at our office about 7:30 and leaving at 8:00. Ride out to Fayetteville and back to Bellville for a burger here: http://thehillrestaurant.com/ Then head back! Sorry Ron, I was planning on going with you guys but found out Kandie had to work Saturday afternoon. We are meeting at 4544 S Pinemont, Suite 214, Houston, TX 77041 if anyone is interested.

Here is the route:

I was going to be riding to a SCRC 10th anniversary get together on Saturday, but they postponed it.  My son and another friend still want to get out and ride.  Not sure I'm up to the early morning call you have posted, but think we might head in the same direction (Bellville for burgers).  Don't know what time you are stopping in Bellville, but maybe we will see ya on the road.

Thanks Dave, I was leaning on bailing the Hunt ride too, as its too much for one day with everything I need to do this weekend. I'll join you guys at the meet-up point. Sounds like a nice ride.

We should be there around 11:30.  O0 All you have to do is go to bed early and then you will wake up early.  :D :D ;)

I enjoyed it.  Ron and I ended up meeting Jason and riding up to Yankee's and then past Huntsville.  7am to 9pm was a long day on that 750.  haha

Need traction, or just a chiropractor?

What a day - great ride - thanks for setting it up Dave - really nice route. And no rain for that part of the day....for those of us who made it (cough-MIKE-cough).

Like Brock said, after we left Dave, Lucky & Co. from the first half of the day, Brock & I met up with Jason, and rode for awhile and ended up at Yankees. We met these two "adveturers", one riding a ZRX1100 and the other a VTX1300, who took us on an adventure ride thru the middle of nowhere, including some dirt/gravel/mud roads with multiple one lane wooden bridges.

Kinda fun, except that it poured down rain, and I ran out of gas (my first time on a bike). Luckily, it was next to a house of some guy who owned a bike and gave me enough gas to make it to the closest station. He wouldn't take any money for the gas. We parted ways with these two characters (in a nice way) near Madisonville ! No idea how they got us all the way up there.

I slept till 10AM today after that heck of the fun/adventurous/long day of riding yesterday. Spent all day cleaning the mud off my Z1000.

Forgot to mention that one really cool part of this day was riding so many nice bikes. I swapped bikes for part of the ride with:

John's Ducati Monster 998
Dave's Yamaha FZ1
Brock's GXSR750

That was sooooo cool - all great bikes.

Yeah, it was very nice to meet up with you guys.  And you guys really jetted out on those bikes.  I was pushing my speed limit limits (due to a recent ticket) to try and catch up with you out of Bellville.  It was a great day and Andrew got some good curves in to learn on...he is itching for a bigger bike now, lol.  We stopped by HOH and got him to sit on a few and see what fits him...he will start seriously looking around on his next leave home in June.

Yeah, that was a couple of crazy dudes, but cool nonetheless.  And I learned never to pass in a no passing zone @ 100+ mph trying to catch a couple of crotch rockets that are getting ready to turn left right after the no passing zone.  I also learned the 1300 doesn't stop as quickly as a crotch rocket does.  :o :o  And Brocked saved both our bikes from disaster!  O0

That's why I bought one. ;) It gets a little hairy trying to keep up with them on a VTX. :o
