« on: February 11, 2009, 11:36:42 PM »

Looking for a place to possibly ride to this Saturday. Any comments on Porkchop's BBQ as a destination? And what rodas to ride around that area?

Personally, if it were me, I'd pick a different spot.  Either The Pickett House in Woodville or The Tree in Hillister.

Us-69 & Fm-1013, Hillister, TX 77624  is the sddress for The Tree

Have heard good things about the Pickett House from other riders also.  Pretty sure Wayne and I will be heading in the Lumberton/Woodville area on Monday.  Hopefully the weather is decent

Depends what cha are lookin for,,,,

Been to Chops a couple times. IMO, Comparable to Yankee's.
Was there last weekend and tried to order a burger,,, :lunch: I was told it would be as much as 2 hrs,, :(
FWIW, the last time I was at Yankee's, it was close to an hour wait,,, :(

I usually go out 149,, hang a right towards Huntville/Livingston,,, Peek at the Lake,,, stop at Chops, head south to 150 west to 1097,, end up in Montgomery on 149. Roads are reasonably light with traffic, good surface,,

I live near Katy. Chops is about 200 miles round trip.

Hmm, perhaps not.

The Porkchops I'm referring to is listed as Porkchops Icehouse in Point Blank. (west side of Lake Livingston)

Low and behold, I see there is a Porkchops BBQ on 904 S Magnolia St in Woodville, TX.

Now, that changes everything!

Heck, I won't even cross the street for BBQ!!!

Drive to Woodville??!!??? No Way!!!

I think I have to do things at home but just in case I don't - when you leaving and what time do you plan to be eating?  Since most of the other seasons are closed, I feel the need for a good "liberal" hunt!! :stickpoke:  :t :stickpoke: :boxing: :pot: :c :lunch:

LOL  ;D  You must be hunting buddies with Sausage Chaney!?  :couch:
Look forward to seeing you again too!  ;)
Though it looks like the change in weather forecast may have washed out any ride plans this weekend?
