Definitely planning on this one.  It's a shame it doesn't leave from Grapevine any longer...

Still ticked that they changed it due to the cowboys game, and not all ending at the same location

It wasn't the event organizers that changed the run because of the game, it was the City of Arlington's doing.  The city denied us the use of the convention center and they did not want the bike traffic because of the game.  They did not have much time to make an alternate plan, so this is just for this year.  I am like you, I would still like to see a one place gathering, but it will be good and it is all for the kids.

Howdy and Merry Christmas!

I am planning on heading down to Grand Prairie and participating in the Dallas edition of this ride.  I'm meeting one other X rider and we're planning on meeting in Grapevine before riding over.  Any other riders want to join up with us?

Totally understand that Chad!  My oldest is in 2nd year in college and youngest is Sr. in High School.  They get away from us WAY too fast!  Enjoy the party and we'll find other runs to enjoy.

Howdy,

The Big Texas Toy Run is this Sunday, December 19th and we have two riders from this board and (so far) one from the VTXOA board planning on a meetup before the ride.  We're planning on meeting at the Whataburger in Grapevine near Bass Pro Shops, just off Highway 121.

We'll plan on being there at 9:30am to eat some biscuits and drink some coffee before heading down to Quik Trip Park in Grand Prairie to form up for the Dallas run.  We'll plan on leaving around 10am.

Registration is at Quik Trip Park from 10am to noon and the ride leaves at 1pm.  The destination is Gilley's in Dallas and there will be a party there.

Here's a link to where the Whataburger is...  (2000 Texas 26, Grapevine, TX)

Looks like we have a good chance for some nice weather on Sunday so come on out.  To be a part of the run you only need to bring an unwrapped toy.  If you want to get into the party you'll need to donate at least $10.  You may also want to bring some money for a pin or a t-shirt.  The kiddos really need our help this year as the Cowboys game has changed the route for the first time in 25 years!

My cell phone is 817-789-nine-six-one-three if anyone needs directions or if you may be running a bit late to the Whataburger...

Just got home from the Big Texas Toy Run.  I was glad to see a few other VTXs in the sea of HD.  I even saw a few other 1800R's and picked up a few ideas for my bike.

Rode two-up with my daughter and she had a blast.  This was our first toy run and she had never seen so many motorcycles (and leather) in one place before (I think we were the only ones not in leather).

Howdy!

The mini meetup in Grapevine was a success!  I caught up with Herb, Frank, Sarah and Jacob.  We had a nice parade of 4 VTXs for the run down to Grand Prairie for the Dallas County start.  The group found out quickly that my nickname is well deserved as I managed to get us headed in the wrong direction initially and yes, we had to pull a u-turn...  The funny part is we caught up with a train of harley riders.  We had 20-something black bikes and then our nice silver, purple, green and red VTXs!

Huge turnout in Grand Prairie and then a nice run over to Gilley's in Dallas.  Lots of people stopped along the side waving, clapping and taking pictures.  Gilley's was fun but very crowded and we pretty much headed out after dropping off the toys.

Here are some pics from today.  I'll have some videos up later.
