If we were to offer … at BBT V?
« on: March 02, 2008, 04:33:34 PM »

If we were to offer Dyno tests at BBT V would you reserve and pre-pay for a spot?  Cybrhick spoke with Twisted Cycles and they will be willing to come to our event.  He was thinking we could have a Dyno Shootout – Prize valued around $150 to top bike or put everyone’s name in a hat that participate and do a drawing.  Cost would be $30 per pull and $55 per hour for tuning.  Schedule would be set for Friday only and you would have to sign-up and prepay by May 1st.   This activity will only offered if we can guarantee $1500 to the vendor.  Please replay if you are seriously interested so a determination can be made.

A Dyno shootout is basically a contest where the highest combined HP and Torque numbers wins. If we choose to do that, there would be a prize for 1300s, and a prize for 1800s.
The other option is a drawing consisting of only those who had a dyno run.

I know there were a few who expressed interest in this in the past, and that is why I have contacted Twisted Cycles. It's up to you guys.

So I could get a custom map out of it for my PC3?  Can you check on what an estimated total would be for the custom map?  Would it be more than $85 ($30 pull + 1 $55 labor hour)?

I spoke with Jason at Twisted Cycles this morning, and he said that most bikes can be mapped in an hour, but that on occasion it may take two.

So is anyone really interested in this at all, or should we move on with other ideas?

I'd pay $30 for a dyno to see if my re-jets got me any extra hp or torque.

Doesn't look like it is going to happen...IMHO. There aren't enough hours in the day to make them the $1500 even if we had our folk lined up. Sounds to me like they just wanted the group to pay a $1500 payday to bring it to us.

"$30 per pull and $55 per hour for tuning.  Schedule would be set for Friday only"
Sun up to sundown=12-13 hoursX 55 = 665. Never would'a happened. Not unless someone with really deep pockets sacrificed a grand. or close to it. :o :o

When I did the math on it earlier, it was less than 10 min. from set-up to set-up for the whole day. Kinda like being at the Doctor's office.  ::)

That would work if a lot of people were getting pulls...  would they have extra labor there and do tuning off the dyno?  I figured your bike is on the dyno the whole time it is getting the PC3 adjusted...
