Ride around the world in one day! - to be rescheduled
« on: February 03, 2008, 11:47:16 AM »

Ride the world in one day. Athens, Palestine, and maybe even Tokio if time allows! Yeah, I spelled it right.

Here's the approximate route:

http://www.westcherry.com/vtx/2008/southrun02.jpg

The meeting place is "Gaters" on Hwy 198 at Cedar Creek Lake:

The ride is about 175 or so miles and takes about 4 hours, including time for a late lunch, (1:00?), just outside of Palestine.

KSU at 11:00am at "Gaters Sports Bar/Restaurant", and the ride ends at Malone Texas in the Frogbranch Saloon.

From Malone, I-35 is about 15 minutes away and splits into I-35W or I-35E at Hillsboro, so DFW riders can fast-track back home.

The ride is hills, twisties and sweepers into Palestine, then Texas farmland into Malone. A little something for everyone.

To be reshceduled
My sincere apologies. My bike is not running. See my post on the third page of this thread.

There were 5 votes. All for Saturday the 17th. Forecasted to be 44 degrees with rain. Most likely, I won't have my starter relay by then either.

Looks like we had better reschedule this one for another time.

If it's just the relay, use a tractor starter switch and jump across the solenoid to start it Hobo.

A tractor starter switch? Then how am I going to start the tractor?  ;D  A guy's got to have a way to get to the liquor store.  8)

Thanks snake! Spent about 15 minutes Googling tractor switches. I get the idea, but the weather is gonna suck around here until next week anyway. 44 degrees wouldn't be too bad, but rain would take a lot of fun out of this particular ride.

A reschedule sounds like the word of the day. That's OK, we'll get'er rode. You think you'll make Up "n" Smoke this Sunday? Probably not cause of your starter problems. I should have riden your way yesterday while it was pretty and nice to do the patch thing cause today kinda sux's due to the north wind. Have to work cattle tomorrow and most of Thursday and will look at Friday to head your way. May just have to leave "Ole Blue" at home and truck it over there. Probably be better with your bike down. Don't guess you'd want to ride Buck Rogers behind me anyway.  :-\ :-\
I'd loan you the switch off my tractor but it's on my truck to jump the solenoid on it.  :'( :'(

Cabin fever my cause me to cage it to Up "n" Smoke this Sunday. Unless I find a tractor that no one is using around here.  :D

I'm thinking about doing the ride on the 23rd if you ain't workin' that weekend.

So when's the make-up?  Long range forecast for Palestine on Saturday the 23rd claims 78 degrees, 20% chance of precipitation...
