Jason
Your problem is most likely the Speed Bleeders.  Don't get me wrong, I have them on most of my bikes and love them for what they can do when doing just a routine fluid change or minor bleeding procedure.  Unfortunatley Speed Bleeders have a hard time passing a lot of air due to the presence of the check valve, the realitivley small displacement of the master cylinder and the compressibility nature of air.  The MC may in fact be bad but chances are the master cylinder is fine.  To get the system purged, you must bleed the master cylinder completely first in order to move fluid through the rest of the system.  Do it at the banjo bolt connection with hose connnected but loose.  Due to the location, it will be messy so be careful.  Once you get the MC bled, you MUST replace the caliper Speed Bleeders with the OEM bleeders (or remove them completely) and bleed the caliper until you get fluid, then reinstall the Speed Bleeder and finish.  Because the system is a dual split front system, you may have to remove or replace all the down stream bleeders until you get fluid through the majority of the system and to each individual caliper location before you can put the Speed Bleeeders back on and finish.  Speed Bleeders just don't have the ability to pass the air in mass that is needed to bleed the system when the MC can only push as little fluid as it does.  Even with the MC totally bled and pushing a full stroke, that small fluid mass can not compress all of the air in the system enough to open a SB and eventually pass fluid through it. I've worked with Speed Bleeders quite a bit and know thier habits.  A vacum pump placed on the caliper is also a way to go to get the system full.  You could also reverse fill the system from the caliper and push it up through the MC if you have a hand pump that will facilitate that procedure.  That method works great and it's an easiy way to get ALL the air out.  Manufacturers fill their systems like that.
Good luck with it.  Give me a call if you need to. I sent you a PM.

Unfortunately, I have to back out of the ride today.  I've lost my front brake, and I'm pretty sure it's the master cylinder piston that is shot.  I've been needing to bleed my brakes for awhile now, and since I have the speed bleeders, it literally takes me about 20 minutes total for both master cylinders.  Well, the back went fine, but when I went to do the front, I lost all pressure to the caliper.  I emptied the brake line & tore down the caliper and cleaned it really well.  I tried my old stock brake line, my old banjo bolts and even my old bleeder valves.  Nothing...zilch...nada...it has to be the master cylinder piston.

I'm tired and heading off to bed.  I hope that David can lead the way since I e-mailed him the route for his GPS.  If you want to take the straight shot, just take 45 to 19 to Loop 304 in Crockett.  Sorry that this happened...I was absolutely looking so forward to this ride...I guess that's what I get for trying to maintenance the night before.

I think I'm gonna torch my bike in the backyard tomorrow...who cares about a burn ban.  >:(

As you can tell by the time of this post, I'm not on the BBQ ride either.   :banghead:
Last night I managed to injure my left eye.  I don't think it's bad but it's swollen shut and hurts like a mother fu#$ker.  I'm going to see a doctor in just few minutes.  Durring my years of welding and fabrication I managed to injure my eye a couple times but I never thought I would hurt it with orange juice!  OK stop laughing................OJ is actually pretty acidic and can do a number on you as I have found out the hard way because I didn't flush my eye enough after the incident.  :banghead:
I suspect it's a minor chemical burn that drugs can take care of.

I hope the ride goes well for the group.  Wish I was there.

Back from the emergency room.  Turns out it was metal debris in my eye.  It probably got in my eye during the bikes oil change in preparation for the BBQ ride ( I didn't get to go on).  Funny thing was..........as I was getting under the bike for the oil change, I told myself to put on my safety glasses like I always do but instead I put on just my reader glasses because they were closer than the safety glasses.   Lesson to be learned here..............Wear your SAFETY glasses.  That's the third time I've gotten metal in that eye ball.  About 30 years ago I had a metal splinter stuck in the eye ball when a chisel broke that a fellow worker was hammering on.  He was about 20 feet away when it broke and flew into my eye.  In the ER today, the doctor could see that previous scar on the eyeball using a black light and tinted dye procedure transmitted to a TV monitor to highlight surface debris on the eyeball.  I could see the previous scar and the current metal debris that was irritating my eye on the screen.  Technology is pretty cool.
Turns out the orange juice was only a contributing irritainent.  I accidently splashed it in my eye about 10 minutes after I did the oil change.  Rubbing my eye after the juice incident caused the metal debris to scratch the eyeball and the presence of the acidic juice aggravated the injury like salt in a knife wound.
Wish I had walked the additional four feet to pick up those safety glasses.   :banghead:   :banghead:   :banghead:

Hindsight is 20/20.  Pun intended.

Well, I had a good time seeing a few friends that I've made, but felt as though I was interrupting when I tried to introduce myself to some that I didn't know. So I didn't meet alot of the riders there. Good food though, and I enjoyed the ride .

Mike, tahnks for the info...I did try to reverse bleed from the caliper, but nothing entered the MC.  I'll try again later...just been relaxing today.

Glad you got your eye taken care of.  Last night when I was bleeding the rear, I was under the bike with no eye protection...definitely not a good idea.  Then when I was cleaning the front caliper with brake cleaner, a small amount of spray hit my right eye.  Working on the bike in the wee hours of the morning is not smart.

Managed to make it home with no issues at all. Larry, thank you for the escort Thanks to all who stopped, turned around and came back to help me on the trip up there. Connie, Wayne, Mike, Brock Bryce, Steve etc. etc., hope you guys enjoyed the ride home. I know if I had gone the scenic route, I would have broken down again and delayed your fun. My daughter and I had a great time and enjoyed the food.

Chad, You did a great job organizing this event, so good that I am going to nominate you to be the State Wide Meet and Greet official organizer..

 :congrats:

Sorry that I did not get to meet more people than I did. Warren

I went to the meet and greet today in Crockett. I got to meet some very nice folks.  I can remember a few names. Otherwise, I had a great time, met nice people, got some ideas about modifying my bike.  Thompson's was a great little family- owned BBQ place.  Great food at a great price. They were really nice folks. I would recommend Thompson's for a day trip stop.  The weather was great and there were lots of folks that attended.  :c  I want to thank all involved in coordinating the event.  I had a good time. Thanks.

Meet and Greet was fun today! Funny little adventure for me actually.

Since I don't know a lot of Xers, or bikers in general... T-Bird was nice enough to invite me to ride with his crew down there. So i got my tail up bright and early at 6am (and i'm a bartender so that is SUPER early......) and headed to downtown dallas. Met up with T-Bird and crew and he made a comment about my rear tire being a bit bald. I laughed a little because I knew it was getting bad... what I didn't realize is that I had about a 6 inch strip of belt showing through  :banghead:. We decided it would be a bad idea to make the 3-4 hour trip on that tire so sadly I rode away in the opposite direction as they went on for the fun. I stopped at the Honda dealer and got my new tire... couldn't bear the thought of not riding for a while. At this point I figured I'd find something else to do with my day but I had a change of heart after I got the tire and headed down to Crockett anyway!!!!

Turned out to be a great day, met new people, like hooter, snake, and iceman. I even got pulled over on my way down  :couch:, but the cop was a biker too and cut me some slack!!!

Great day! thanks for everyone who coordinated!!!

We had a GREAT time.  It was so nice to meet people that you have chatted with and seen online and finally get to put a face with (like Sssssnake).  It was also nice to see some old friends that I haven't seen in months.  The food was very good, the weather was perfect and the ride was very enjoyable.  Even tho we had problems with Warren's bike on the way down, I would say this was a perfect day.  Thanks Chad for organizing it.  It was a total success according to me.
