ZZ Top and Montgomery Gentry
« on: April 11, 2008, 11:00:21 AM »

Wayne and I are MAJOR ZZ Top fans and they are coming to Ford Park Event Center (outside of Beaumont) on May 3rd.  We have put it on our calendars to try and go.  My plan is to ride our bikes there (there is a bike rally there that day) and get lawn tickets for the concert.  I have been told by Ford Park that there should be plenty of lawn tickets still available at the box office that day (I hate paying TicketMaster's fee).
If anyone is interested in going let me know and we can hook up for the ride there.
Here are links for Ford Park http://www.fordparktx.com/news.aspx?newsid=584 and TicketMaster if you want to buy your tickets early http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/0C004087C264636A/

Also, the day of the concert, we (Red Knights) are heavily involved in the Share the Road campaign by TxDOT, and we will have a booth set-up during the Car Bike show that will be held prior to the concert.  Check out:

Lucky - where and what time are you guys planning on meeting up for the ride ? If still have energy after non-stop, round-trip drive to Atlanta on Friday, I may try to tag along.

Is this replacing the Cowboys on the Coast Rally?

Negative, as far as I know.  Coondog Productions is putting this on, as Cowboys on the Coast has been handled, I think by S&S.

Oooopppsss  ::) I was bad...I should have posted that Wayne and I are NOT going to the ZZTop concert.  Various issues that nobody is interested in caused us to decide to do the Snook, TX ride instead.  Sorry, if this messed anyone up.

Wayne heard today that ZZTop will not be at the Ford Pavilion on May 3rd.  The story is that not enough tickets were sold to warrant the show...we don't have absolute proof of their cancellation, but I thought I might mention this in case anyone was still considering going.

I was told by a friend last night that she heard on the radio that it was canceled.

We were notified yesterday evening that the concert would be rescheduled.

There is a classic car show on Sat. and a bike show on Sun. in Port Neches at Riverfest at Port Neches Park if you are in the area.
