Went to Galveston on Saturday, took off at Clear Lake Blvd (east) to Space Center (south), to NASA Rd 1 (east) to Hwy 146 (south) to Texas City and I-45.  Little traffic in Kemah area but once you got through that area it was smooth sailing.  OR, you could hit Hwy 35 to Hwy 6, came back that way.

Anything that is close to I-45, will be backed up.  The road construction only goes from NASA Rd 1 to Hwy 518.

Hope this helps, I'll be in Corpus that weekend.

If there is to be a M&G in Beaumont, just when do you plan on being here?  (the closest it appears you will get is Anahuac?

How far is Anahuac from Beaumont ?

It looks like a short ride down 10.

I was waiting for a response from Beaumont riders to see where they would like to meet up, if no one responded, then the issue is moot.

Any idea's on where to meet up?

Just guessing should arrive around 3 or 4 pm

Anahuac is 43 miles from Bmt.

Looks like you are coming to Winnie which is East of Anahuac. Winnie has Al-T'S, Cowboy Red's BB-Q, and something else that I can't think of.
At Winnie, you could also take a 15 mile run to The Pine Tree Lodge up 73 but the party will be ending (well, at least the band) They have pretty good Catfish.
Beaumont does have a Hooters now.  :-*
Then there is always Iguana Joe's on 146
I don't know what's in Anahuac.

I'm probably going to have to work Sat, but I won't know until Friday.  >:(

Dusty, I, like you, have absolutely no idea of what is in Anahuac.  Also, from what I have heard, Cowboy Red's no longer has the place in Winnie.  Myself, I am open for anything.  Just did not understand the "M&G in Bmt", if the group had no plans to come to Bmt.  Another option is Acapulco for Mex. food, or perhaps at Esther's by the bridge.  I agree, the catfish at PTL is hard to beat.

Just saw this place advertised on the tube.

Steve's Landing Seafood Bay Vue Road - left fork Crystal Beach at the Intracoastal. (409) 684-1440
I have heard both good and bad about it.

I can vouch for Ester's in PA. I know it's good.

Well, I do apologize for not be able to join this ride after all.  The plan made for me this weekend is to help deliver a bike to Ft. Worth on Saturday.  Y'all have fun, ride safe and I may catch y'all next time.

I wish we could be there, but my son and I have a charity ride we are participating in that day. :-\

We are riding to raise money for a family dealing with the high cost of cancer treatments and unfortunately, burial arrangements for their son who has leukemia. :'(

I planned on going and thought I left you a PM or something on this string, but didn't see it maybe it was on a different thread?
Sorry to hear that you are cancelling looked like a pretty good ride.
I was going to get my V-Rod neighbor to go with.

Maybe no one responded since it is like the Houston M&G that only a few respond, but a bunch show.

Let me know if you are going to re-schedule or un-cancel.

Hell might just take the ride anyway to get out of the house.  Have been sick the last week and can't stand caging it anymore.

I know Kyle and I, Danny(xriderintx) and April were going.  I was looking foward to it.  I think we could still swing it.  Too me it doesn't matter if its a big group or just a few people.  As long as we are riding thats all that matters.

Aww MAN!!!   :'(  I am one that would make the ride if it wasn't for work issues that won't be resolved until Friday afternoon.  Sorry the ride is cancelled.  Hopefully is it only postponed.

That said, it is common that when a ride is posted, not many respond.  However, when KSU time comes, there may be as many as 10 riders hanging around.  Brock and Jen's shower ride is an example.  Only a few responded, but about 20 showed for the ride.  (Large groups are hard to handle.)

On the opposite end, like in Kenny's "Sprang Thang" the first event only a couple showed up.  This year maybe 30 showed or put in an appearance.  Next year will probably be even bigger.

The Wednesday MnGs started with only about 5 people.  Look at it now! O0

What I am saying is - don't give up on this.  It is a great idea.  Keep at it.

Thanks for all your hard work on this.  Looking forward to the make up date.
