Another attempt at a Pickett House Ride (revised to) 10/18/09
« on: October 10, 2009, 12:50:49 PM »

Andrea and I had a change of plans on the morning of 10/10/09 and did not make the ride with Joey, Brock and others. I am very bummed. I had to meet a client in Coldspring. I was going to drop her at a restaurant, go to my meeting then pick her back up, link up with DavidJ and head to Pickett house. When we left the house at 7:15 AM is was misting hard enough that (even if we put on raingear) we would have been soaked when we got to Coldspring. I didn't think that would have been very appropriate with needing to meet clients so we went back to the house and I took the truck. Good choice as I used the windshield wipers almost the whole way.

Anyway, hoping that the weather will be better for 10/18/09 would anyone be interested in making a run to the Pickett House? The website shows their hours from 11 AM to 6 PM. http://www.heritage-village.org/pickett-house.htm

We live in Montgomery and could me at the Exxon station on the SE corner of I-45 & FM3083. I would like to do an easy ride up thru parts of the Sam Houston National Forest up thru Point Blank cross the big bridge on Lake Livingston and stay on Hwy 190 to Woodville.

Yep, woke up this morning hopeful but not too optimistic about the weather.
Turned on the TV and saw the radar and scrubbed the trip for today.  :banghead: :cuss:  :hurl:

Next Sunday sounds good to us to try it again. It will be a good road test to see if I get everything put back together right at next Saturday's Tech Session.

I'd like to but the kid will be home from collage and haven't seen him in a while  :D Enjoy the ride, you can come up with some pretty creative routes in that part of the country.

Of Course it's dirty. It's hard to clean when the tires keep moving.

My buddy Jerry on his new HD Ultra trike.
