Just got an email from my wife about this. I have two dogs that i love very much and I hate to see this happen to any one of them. If you or anyone you know is looking pass this on, maybe we can save some of them.

Hi everyone,
I hope you don’t mind me forwarding this – but this is heartbreaking. I verified the number below and it is real.
If you would like to add a pet to your family – please check out the poor little pups separated from their families during Hurricane Ike – they need homes as they are unclaimed. L Poor little pups.

Help the Montgomery County Animal Control & Animal Shelter
You can come by the shelter located at 8535 State Hwy 242 in Conroe,
Texas 77385 (phone number for MCAS is 936-442-7738) during that time
or meet up with one of the volunteers in the afternoon.
Please call me if you can help 281-465-0570 or 832-326-2468 cell.
Thank you!!!! Maile Schuyler, MCAS volunteer
These are a few of the dogs who will be euthanized first thing Saturday morning if not rescued or fostered.
They need to have a rescue sign on their kennel by Friday night.
Staff and volunteers have been working very hard to help the dogs by
Hurricane Ike. For all of our efforts there will still be over a
hundred dogs euthanized on Saturday morning if the power is restored
before then. If you can, please help these dogs. They deserve a second
chance. Montgomery County Animal Shelter has been helping other
shelters in the Houston areas who incurred worse damage, but we still
need help. We will not be able to help these dogs without your help.
Please consider rescuing some of these dogs. Medication, etc. can be provided by a MCAS vet if needed.
Just let us know what you need. The power has not yet been restored to
the shelter, but when it returns these dogs will not be able to stay.
We are not sure when the power will be restored. Staff have been
working at the shelter overtime in order to take care of the animals.
Staff are there in the mornings from 9-12 A.M. We are not taking in
any animals until the power comes back, but people continue to abandon
their animals outside of the shelter anyway.

Conroe Animal Shelter to Euthanize 100+ dogs from Ike Overcrowding
PLEASE FORWARD THIS E-MAIL TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW!!!
*I received word today that the Montgomery County Animal Shelter
in Conroe will begin euthanizing 100 + dogs on Saturday because
of overcrowding due to Hurricane Ike. See the attached link for
dogs you can help. There are people actually doing road trips to
Conroe to adopt a few dogs to try to buy them some time. If you
are interested in temporarily adopting a dog (or permanently),
please get a hold of them ASAP!

Brock,
Can you move this thread to the General board?

It's on the Austin Craigslist:

You may want to do that for the Houston Craiglist as well. O0

That's too cool, brother. Thanks for the help. Sometimes what seperates us are those that do the right thing and those that do the good thing. We should all do good things.

Oh, and by the way, when i meant that everything had been resolved, is that the help for foster homes or saving the dogs was take care of. No dog was put to sleep, but they still might need help in foster homes. Will try to do my part. O0

Hey, we're all dogs. Some of us have learned to walk on two legs, that's all! ;D
On a more serious note, if the dogs are in foster homes, they still need real homes. So see what you can do folks...

ain't it the truth ;D I don't understand why anyone actually pays money for a dog unless they need sometype of working dog. The shelters are full of great pets! I have two, one wirehair/ chihuhua mix from a shelter( he's smarter than most people) and a husky/golden retriever (sweet beautiful animal) that strayed up after someone dumped him. Both free yet folks pay hundreds for a dog and I like my dogs as much as if they had cost a lot of money.
