Trying to gauge some interest. This would be a camping (tent style) trip. Since it starts on Friday I probably wouldn't leave until Friday morning, set up camp and leave Sunday Morning.
$50.00 registration. You can check out the events and see if this interest you http://www.harvestclassic.org/

sweet. I've missed the past couple years. I really like the atmosphere of this rally. Movie night is pretty cool too.
-
I remember the last I went Gumbo was with me and it got down to 30 degrees that night. I'm glad I had some ear plugs cause damn there was loud snorers.
-
Gonna get there a little early to be sure and get a prime camping spot.
This is a really cool gathering, if you like kool old bikes, you can pick up a really good ideas here too.
-
They start letting people setup camp first thing Friday morning when the gates open. What time you thinking about going?

Thinking a day or two before, and be there around 7am to grab me a spot.
Thoughts :camping:

Well I was gonna take a about 7-8 days off from work so I might already be camping in my RV near Canyon Lake. I thought I would take off from there, leave RV and pack my tent stuff and leave early Friday morning. I would then come back to my RV to rest up the remainder of my days off.

What ever works for you, I can take as much time off as I want :t So many options for camping before the event, pumped already.
I will be there for registration bright and early ;)

I'm going to do the preregister next month so I get my tshirt ( :ohwow: ). I'll ride with you so we'll make plans accordingly.

If you're going to be that close, you'd better check in with Lucky and set up a get together.
-
I'd rather bed down at the peach tree in fredricksburgh.
-
Captain Dave is inn! after we sat on the porch and drank half a bottle of scotch, so help me help him to remember!
-
Cool.
-
I haven't tent camped since my Boy Scout days...and that one weekend in college (that I don't remember). Libby is a definite NO...but I'm interested.

Lucky says the only problem with camping is the ground is soooo far down and hard.
-
I'm looking into these packable cots that keep you off the ground. Coupled with a good sleeping bag it shouldn't be too bad.
-
Leaving next week! Gonna roll out on Wednesday the 18Th!

Deb and I will be going and will get there mid-day on Friday. Planning on going to the event on Saturday. We will be staying at the KOA and I will be using Debbie as a cot

you can get to Leander from Luckenbach easier than from Katy on Sunday morning. BTW Gumbo had a medical procedure on Monday so he called to say he's out as well.
I'm still going.
-
I hate to hear folks are missing out on this. I wish I could go. :c I'll keep this tentatively on the schedule for next year.

Normally, I'd say to swing by, but I have to be out at COTA for F1 on Saturday...

Home safe and sound, bike unloaded and put away at 6pm. Had a great time. Lots of cool old bikes. Ariels, Nortons, Triumps along with alot of Japanese bikes and scooters. Not the typical Biker rally but what I call a motorcyclists rally. Great event. Want to go again.
-
Most definitely will want to go next year. Will be a little
less packed and have stakes for my tent! ! Lol
-
I'm definitely making it next year but since we had to go pick up a new member of the family I had to cancel that trip.
-
I've already got it on my calendar for next year....Libby is definitely invited. Will be a more seasoned camper next year. I'll ride down and Libby may bring the gear in the Jeep.

Fredericksberg is a tourist town and hotels fillup and are boring, besides the campgrounds is where the action is.

Deb and I must be tourist. After everyone needed to leave on Saturday due to the weather concerns. Deb and I went back to KOA and dropped the bikes and grabbed the dogs and drove down in the truck to Fredericksberg for something to eat. Once we got downtown, something happened that I had not ever experienced before. We own a Hairless Chinese Crescent which if you our not familiar with the breed is pretty damn ugly and unique dog. We walked around for about an hour and at least 50 people came up to check the dog out. And the majority were pretty damn drunk at four in the afternoon. It was obvious that most had just finished a day at the wineries. I have always had some concerns but never had that much interaction with people on the streets until then. To all when you're in the area keep in mind a lot of people behind the wheel have been tasting most of the day.
-
We have decided for next year we will get a camp spot at Luckenbach put an Easy up and some chairs and when we're done for the evening head back to the KOA to sleep and shower.
