why does the r feel so much heavier

(1/1)

cruiserlover:
Tomorrow the guy si supposed to be bringing my 06 1300 R. I sat on one at a dealer.Ane they had antother later model, I think it might have been a sabrel 1300 with skinner front tire, fender, and cast wheels. It lifted up way easier. One is probably a vtx and the other is a new version after 2009. I know low speed handling is effected by the front tires etc. However I ride a 99 venture now so that isnt a new problem. But maybe the later model has a lower center of gravity. But weight wise they are pretty much equal on all specs I have found.I know its about 675 whereas my venture is 850 so I expected the r to feel much lighter.

I had a 07 1300R and loved it, now on 06 1800R, now this thing is heavy! I thought the 1300 was more nimble and lighter, try a 1800 you just may not think it's so heavy.
As to why it feels heavy, not a clue, but it won't be long until you will be very comfortable with that R. :c

I'm sure.No bike, not the 1800 vtx or the vulcan 2000 feels heavier than my venture. But beyond 10 mph the weight disappears.

Rocket67:
My 1800R felt 400# heavier than my Street Glide.  I was really surprised too, I was thinking the Harley would have a much heavier feel.

cruiserlover:
