Sounds good, I should be finished unpacking by then :D  Any recommendations on places to stay or more importantly places to avoid??

Probably can't stay for the whole time but would definately want to come down for the Meet&Greet

the island gets packed  O0 you can visit www.lonestarrally.com or do a search online for hotels in Galveston

Yep, did that, but not being familiar with the island or the layout of the Rally I was hoping to get some info to help chose a hotel that was near the action.  But if I have to ride my X around the island no problem.  Riding is the X is what its all about.  Looking forward to the Meet&Greet. Although it seems far away now it will be here before you know it.  Looks like a 240 mile ride from New Braunfels, but my map program wants to rout me through downtown Houston  >:(.  Will have to look for a more interesting route.

Moving to New Braunfels?  I must admit my envy.  As far as hotels in Galveston, I would highly recommend the Tremont House or Harbor House.  Personally, I vote for a B&B, as it tends to be quite more comfortable (translated-quieter at night :) ) such as Coastal Dreams or Grace Manor.  On a more budget-conscious note, check out the Comfort Inn on Seawall or Holiday Inn - Sunspree.  Avoid Downtown Houston by coming in on 10, take the beltway around town (which will connect you to 45 south) and follow it on in to the coast.  Not the prettiest ride, but the shortest and quickest way around Constructionville.

ditto on what hookem said. we stayed just outside of galveston on 45. it's a straight shot in and out of galveston.

you can also go take HWY 6 into Galveston as well. The main events are on the strand. Antwhere you stay on the island your are about 5-10 minutes away from the action. Actually it gets to crowded on the strand at night. Alot of people tend to hang out on the seawall as well.

My advice is get your shopping done early as possible then you have time to enjoy  :)

I just made our reservations.  They are getting scarce.  Most more than double the price for Fri & Sat.  I found a pretty good deal at the Flagship (Always wanted to stay there) $231 for Thur - Sun.

That 20 miles will seem like a 100 after having fun all day with your friends  :D  I live in Friendswood and I am still staying on the island. One you get in at 2 am then up again at 8 am that 20 mile ride sucks back to the island as well.

Looking forward to meeting you as well  O0

I have heard the Flagship is old and a bit run down.  However, I've always wanted to stay there because of the patios and the view.  At the price they offer I'll take my chances.
