Bike Security while traveling
« on: September 13, 2006, 08:16:22 PM »

We have yet to overnight anywhere with the bike. I'm concerned about security at hotels for the bike.
(Not the reason we haven't gone, we just haven't
had the opportunity yet) We are planning on the Galveston trip and I was
wondering if we could get a few security tips by those who have gone before.

Thanks

I use to worry about this all the time. Then I stopped.
Now, I remove my valuables, lock the front forks, put the cover on and forget about it. If they want it, they probably have the means to take it no matter what you do short of getting a ground floor room and taking the bike inside.

A wheel rotor lock is what I have. Differnt kinds of locks and Iam sure all good. Just means they will spend a little bit more time working on it to take it away. If they can cut it!!  ;D

the only thing i do is try to get a hotel room on the first floor where i can park directly in front of the rooms door. easier to keep an eye on things and it's easier unloading/loading the bike.
