Yammy Warrior or a VTX 1800C
« on: June 08, 2006, 10:04:02 PM »

I'm looking another bike to play with. This time I want a V Twin.
I have it narrowed down to the Warrior or 1800c.
looking at a 2002 or 2003.
Mostly because both have aftermarket 240 kits available.
and I can make up the rest of the mods. ???

well, you've already got a VTX...... I say warrior, but I always liked those things. Dwight would have a little more input on that.

Why did you not consider the Suzuki M109? It is shaft drive , has a fat back tire already , and has a 1800 motor like the VTX , and long low appearance of the Warrior. Not just trying to be difficult but I used to own a Warrior and have been around the VTX with this group for about two years and I could easily choose between the two based on what I want out of a bike. They are both "power cruisers" but very different Bikes. Price? Power? Ability to find and Availability of aftrmarket parts to customize? Comfort? Air cooled or water cooled?

My brother has a warrior.  The deciding factor for me was comfort.  The warrior to me (stock) was not comfortable.  After drag bars and a new seat it was a little better, but it was still weird.  I like the way the victory vegas jackpot looks and feals.  I just didn't have the 21 grand to play with.

My next bike is going to be a warrior.there are pros and cons to both.

Vtx= easy access to after market parts to customize any way you want.
     - Every one has one

Warrior= Parts are more difficult to find but they are out there
           - not as common

Both bikes have a tremendous amount of power so you can be comforted there.
Vtx Liquid cooled
Warrior Air Cooled so if you ride in traffic be carefull.
Just My two cents.

VERY TRUE. Warrior also has a true soft tail so the rear suspension is not visible.

From my experiences the warrior had a lot more available aftermarket even though it is a much less popular bike than the vtx . Especially through Yamaha from the dealer. I think Yamaha only offer two pipes for the Warrior now, but when I had mine there were three available,  two different intakes as well.

Check out the triumph rocket.  Looks like the back side of a donkey, but it's powerful.

2293 cc 147ft lb's of torque!!!!
