OMG that was so AWESOME!!!!! I'm glad we have pilots like that in the good 'ol USA to guard us!!!!
-
Thats what they do for FUN !!!!!! the serious stuff is when they land on top of a blacked out aircraft carrier in 30 foot seas and the deck is pitching and rolling like a BULL :o :o :o and they do it on an almnost nightly basis while on station around the world.

I have been fortunate enough to see both the Blue Angels and the Thunderbirds perform .... in My opinion th Blue Angels flew closer to the ground , tighter formations and more crisp manuevers.... one time while at Nellis AFB in Las Vegas (home of the Thunderbirds) I got to witness both teams fly one right after the other ;D ;D ;D it was awesome O0

One of my highschool classmates, used to be the lead Solo pilot for the Thunderbirds. Back when they used to fly Sabre's :o j/k, I think they were F-15's. I saw him in Austin @ Bergstrom AFB.

RD there history page shows that they flew F 84's, then F4's in the late 60's to 1973 then went to T38's for a brief period of time before going to the infamous F-16 Falcons in 1983 ......... so they were flying the F16 when I saw them at home and the Angels were flying A-4's O0 O0

You left out one the best aircraft in the late 50's they flew the F100 for several years before they started flying the F4E's in the late 60's. I worked on both and I have to say the F4 was the best, but was the type of acft that would bite you real quick if you didn't know what you were doing.

I had tears running down my face laughing so hard at that guy!
